I've tried that. Switched out to a different switch and wires all together. I think I had a bad board and have since returned it and bought the stand alone pokeys57CNC.

Ok so if I pick pins on the 57CNC, let's say 9 and 10 on the Pendent Connector, then I got into the plugin in Mach 4 and set the pins in the mapping function then set them in mach 4 setup? I don't have to program those pins in the stand alone pokeys configuration software?

I think the board I had was bad. I've since returned it.

The pull-up resistors, are they built into the pokeys or do I have to add them?

Ok, not to bring up an old thread, but have a question. Just recieved my Pokeys57CNC, but haven't hooked it up. Was using a 57E before.

For wiring the spindle I use pin 17 and GND to adjust the speed of the VFD. Then which pins do I use to turn on CW and Turn on CCW? And how is that setup in Mach? Do I have to map the outputs like in the 57E?

Ok I read over all of what you said many time. Still have a few questions.

What is the pic you posted of the Write Single Register, referring to Write Requested Carousel Position, what's that for?

How does Mach talk to the PLC do you have to put the IP address of the PLC somewhere in Mach?

Where do I put the LUA script, what folder and how do I open it to view it?


I wrote my PLC program already with internal bits 'C' to trigger each tool position. Here's some pics.

I don't get the DS registers you're talking about, so mach triggers an output for a tool change "X001" for example that inturn triggers a DS register in Click? So in my program pics you see here I would just add a DS register in front of the X001? Or does the register do something else?

My program works very simple a press of a button, virtual or physical, let's say X001 will run the program for tool change position 1. So I only need 8 inputs (8 outputs from Mach to the PLC). Then (I don't have it programmed in yet) when the tool change is finished Y106 turns on to show the tool change is completed. So I only have one output from the PLC to Mach. How would I set that up?

BTW this helps tremendously.

Cool. Good to know. I just thing if I use one device instead of a device attached to another device it'll help solve stuff in the long run.

SO I'm having problems with my Pokeys 57E connected to CNC4PCs M16 breakout board. I don't like that the 57E is hooked up to a breakout board not made by pokeys. Arturo is great, but doesn't have all the answers and it's getting frustrating to try to figure everything out. SO I'm think I'd rather have a BOB made by pokeys. Well the 57CNC has all the options built in.

DO you think the 57CNC would be a great replacement for my other stuff?

I guess all I need is:

Motor Control
Spindle 10V output
Limit Switch
Threaded - So spindle encoder hookup

I haven't looked it over completely yet cause Mach 4 is now not working at all. Estop condition all the time, but THANKS A BUNCH. That's awesome. I'll tackle this when I solve this other problem.
