No one? Any help?

Ok so not sure what the spindle ramp up speeds in "Mach Settings > Spindle" is supposed to do, because it does nothing.

Also not sure what "dwell" refers to in the Mach 4 Lathe Wizards "Settings" is supposed to do, because it does nothing either. it doesn't put the G4 code in there as you think it would.

And in the lathe wizards I can't edit the gcode. It saves it as an ini file, then when I post it and try to use "edit gcode" while on the main screen it gives me an error so I can't add G4 manually.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks I'll try that or see if it's putting it in there.

So this doesn't work. I have the accel time and decel time set, but it makes no difference when I'm using the lathe wizards, which is what I always use.

Is there a setting in the lathe wizards to have it pause before starting to cut. I already set dwell time and it does nothing. Or can I use a custom code? I see in the lathe wizards that you can have custom gcode. If so what would I put and in what box?

If I have a physical button hooked up to my pokeys board I know generally how to program it to do a general function such as cycle start; how do I get it to run something like G0G53X0Z0?

Also how do I get a pysical button to set feed rate? I do a lot of manual machine on my CNC lathe, i.e. using the keyboard to face a part, and for this I use different feed rates. Usually I use the slider, but that's a pain. How do I use a button to change the feedrate. I know probably where it should be just need to know the code.

Ok so I've got a basic grasp about how to use inputs from my pokeys to trigger events, such as cycle start, the pokeys blog outlines how to add code to mach editor.

So if I use a physical button on the pokeys and use it on an input in mach 4 how would I write the code to have that button trigger the G0G53X0Z0? Thanks.

Cool. I've got pulse index homing on my servos so it's almost dead accurate every time I start up.

rich I think I know what you mean. I home to x0 z0 which is my tool change position.  Thanks for the help.

With a turret lathe how do I have the machine go to Machine Coordinates X0 Z0 for tool changes? I can't just do it for the regular work offset of each tool as each tool is a different distance from home.

Is there a G code I can use to get the carriage to Machine Coordinates of X0 Z0?
