Hi All,

I've been trying for the last 3 days to get Mach3 using the THC300 Boards and Breakout Boards from Sound Logic to use the M03 supplied from Bobs web site to touch off the top of the plate,At first i had some issues with the g28.1 way ,which i want to use my machine limits and soft limits so my machine don't hurt itself or Crash, So i went  to the M03 way to use the Probe command to find the top of the meterial, account for the switch travel, zero the dro,and move up to the cutting height.I  want to start cutting,I zero out the X ,Y ,Z Work offsets ,Hit cycle start, X & Y Move to there position ,Z axis rapids travels down to cut height,Goes into the M03,which starts the probe command G31 Code" Z-8"  Z Axis moves down -8" or switch closes which ever is first, this far I'm fine.

Here is the real problem ,if I Ref'd Z 0.0 say 1" to 8 " off of the plate the Z Axis starts to  move down trying to find the switch or 8 " and it does ,then once the switch closes the Z Axis takes forever to come to a stop(say about 1") ,now it goes through the code and tryies to brings the Z back from where it ramped to a stop, instead of where the switch closed back up switch travel ,Zero DRO and tryies to start the torch with the tip on the plate. (i have a floating head z axis which closes a switch when on surface)

Motor tuning has no effect on when the switch is closed on the amount of time it takes to ramp to a stop like one might have thought,Is there a setting for this time somewhere ? Also if no feed is given like  G31 Code"Z-8F20"What feed does it use,Max speed under motor tuning? I Tryied a Slow feed and it still over shoots.

I have changed my Z Axis motor tuning to have no ramp at all and still the same problem,if I ref out very close to the surface before I start, it is some what better but don't work the way it is supposed to and still over shoots about 1\2" and  leavestorch tip on the plate but when the switch closes it doesn't over shoot as much as it didn't have much time travel I guess.

Will I have to use a custom made Probe Cmd  like some have been asking about for tool length Zeoring under Mach Support http://www.artsoftcontrols.com/forum/index.php?topic=2136.0

Also I have some other questions if some one could help?

1. Where can I find updated reading meterial for the OemCodes and Other updated Info on how mach works ? I've tryied WIKI and there old stuff.

2. A newer updated manual for Mach3 would be nice,to show what certin buttons do under general config , Ports and Pins mill options, and The Standard Mach3 Screen .Set. It would be nice to read through this and it would answer alot of peoples question I'm sure ::)  But I know how busy Art is ,Always Upgrading Mach and it's Features :)

1)  I set the proper port , pin & typed in a emulated keyboard key so i could test the feature,it does work but there is a serious problem with this feature or i did something wrong,When key is pressed it stops the motion instantly with no ramping to a stop and when the key is released it starts instantly again with no ramping ,losing step during the keyboard presses,I'm almost sure there is something wrong with something i did or the XML file.

2)  There is no Debounce under config\state,but there is a Shuttle feature what does this do ???

Hi All ,i am trying to help another customer switch over to mach3 from another software ;D

Here are the problems we are having :(

1) I need Mach3 to halt the movement when starting a arc on the plasma cutter when a set pin goes(Low) and resume when the pin goes (HI) ??? I know Mach3 is able to do it but don't know how!

2)How and Where  to Set the input DeBounce ?

Thanks in advance for the help guy's

General Mach Discussion / Re: Rapid Travel
« on: June 28, 2006, 01:00:14 PM »

Hi all, just wanted to keep this at the top of the thread ,he updated his problem that he is having and i was concerned that nobody would notice the update he edited at the bottom of his original post.I talked to Dan and his machine will rapid travel in the cont. jog mode to the max speed with no problem,1" lead ball screws,PAC-SCI 1245 oz.in. nema 34 motors,48V or 65 V can't recall & 20 amp PS,if he can Jog the keys in con't mode at max speed why is there a problem when he is in step mode,at first i thought he had the jog step to short and typematic delay was very fast and giving him the spuratic jog movements, but if you hold the keyboard dwn in step mode on the jog it only moves (1)  increment on the movement at which it is set ,at least on mine, so i figured that was not the area for him to be looking,I'm sure it's something simple we are over looking.

Thanks

UPDATED Info********************************

Thanks all for the info however I have discovered that I wasn't quite correct in the original post. I have found out that the problem is between continuous jag and step jog. If using continuous jog, the travel in all directions is perfect. If using Step jog, the travel is horrible. The motors seem to hesitate and pause badly in between steps. I set the increment for 1 inch and it hops along badly in that inch in either direction.

i didn't uncheck the load driver check box.
i also uninstalled from system and reloaded and same thing,i says regsvr32 window "dllregisterserver in nt graph.ocx succeeded" i click ok to close that window and then window pops up for the driver load page both are checked i click ok then another setup window is showing the Driver Test window pops up saying " No Driver sensed installed.Run driver test. " ????Should it say " no driver sensed or install on this computer,Please try running driver test under the mach3 folder"

i upgraded to the newest version,i was having problems when moving the y axis seemed almost always in the neg. Dir the x axis would step like 1 pulse not sure what direction when this happened, and never thought to check the drive Dir signal line to see if it was hi or low and after the x stepped to see it changed,a least i would know if it was emi or mach was changing the Dir and the step lines to move the x axis, but prob not switching both lines,I'll have to scope all lines and look at there condition, but i thought I'd post this as i seen another post about the x stepping and he changed the computer and this fixed the problem.

But anyway the main prob is upon loading the newest ver the driver seceded window never comes up and a window comes up saying driver not loaded (something like that) an i should run the driver test, will when i run that it says i should run the driver test?
i went back to the old version and now it says the same thing?
