General Mach Discussion / Re: Problem in Mach3 R3.042.029?
« on: November 08, 2009, 11:52:55 AM »
My problem is also solved.
I reinstallid mach 3 and it worked fine.
I also got my velocity an accel a bit down just to be shure

When the cutting shifts, does the DRO show the position where the tool is, or where it's supposed to be?
I'll check that tomorrow.
The strange thing is that the problem always starts at the same part, and that the shifted result is perfectly symmetric.

Yes,

I'm having the same problem.
I've also already wasted a large wooden sheet because of this.
Here is my topic if it can help:
http://www.machsupport.com/forum/index.php?topic=13061.new;topicseen#new
I hope we can solve this.

yes that's right.
Top image is what it should be and what is showing when loading the G code into mach.
The bottom view is what comes out (what is being cut).
I'll check out your topic

Hi,

this is my problem:
I make a G code with lazycam (tried both new and older version, does not solve the problem).
Import it into mach3.
It runs fine for 2-3 minutes.
After this, always at the same part, mach 3 shifts all of the parts to the left (see image).
this:

becomes this:

I have no idea why.
When I import the G code in mach is looks allright on the toolpath viewer, but when it runs it, it goes wrong.
Anyone can help me please?
Thank you

Hi guys,

It's been a while but...

I have tried the technique described above by Chip with very good success. What I did was to to generate a pwm signal from the spindle output and use the relay on my BOB (PMDX 122) to open and close the circuit between pin 16 (the pin outputting my pwm) and the laser. The relay is opened and closed with the direction signal from my Z-Axis (Since my machine has none). There is little or no delay like there was with the M3 / M5 commands.

In my gcode, the power level of the laser is changed with an S command from S 0 to S 100  for 0-100% power. So at the start of my program I toggle the direction to down to make sure the relay is open (G0 Z-.001), set the power with S command then turn on the spindle with M3 and leave the spindle on thru out the program. To toggle the laser on and off, I issue G0 Z0.001 for laser on and G0 Z-0.001 for laser off.  At the end  of my program, I issue M5 to turn off pulse generation.

I can post more info about my setup when I get home (I'm on lunch at work now) if anyone is interested. Just let me know.

The next step is to figure out how to vary the power as a function of the speed of the x and y axis while using the relay to open close the signal to the laser unit. I would like to use one of the rotary axis to generate the pulses instead of the spindle but haven't yet figured out the setup to do this. Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks for all the help guys.

Roger

Hi,

I'm having the same problem here.
How do you convert the Dir + or Dir - from the Z axis to a 0 or 5V signal ? What schematic/electronics do you use?
I was thinking about making a simple electronic tim delay on the signal, would't this also work?

I hope so.

Thanks a lot Hood for trying to help me all this time. It's a pitty it still doesn't work.
Anyhow, thank you!

It's a good thing that it is not urgent (still have to design my new cnc, and at this time I rarely use the old one), so I have some time left.
If anyone has suggestions, please tell me.

Mathias

I've disabled the fixed LPT port in the BIOS. Then I've installed the new port as LPT1 and gave it the 0378 adress. Mach still does not respond on the pins.
I've included a screenshot of the driver test an screenshot showing the mach 3 engine.

I've also installed it as LPT2 with adress 03BC. I've putted that adress in mach, but that did not work either. I cant give iet the standard 0378 adress as this is occupied by LPT1. So it would help if I unistalled the LPT1 in the bios and install the new port as LPT1 with the 0378 adress.
Will this be allright? Because when the pc chooses a standard adress for the port it is 03BC.
I will try the thiing with the bios tomorrow

went to my friend today.
He gave me two cards like these: http://images.google.be/imgres?imgurl=http://www.picco.nl/images/A89136.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.picco.nl/index.php%3Fmanufacturers_id%3D13%26sort%3D2a%26page%3D3%26osCsid%3Dc78a096f36deff4c991886ab90a29d11&h=430&w=600&sz=85&hl=nl&start=6&um=1&tbnid=qfRQvceO-9rEHM:&tbnh=97&tbnw=135&prev=/images%3Fq%3DPCI%2BParallel%2Bport%2Bcard%26svnum%3D10%26um%3D1%26hl%3Dnl%26rlz%3D1B2GGGL_nlBE205BE205%26sa%3DN
I've fitted one into the pc but it detects iet automaticaly as a COM port.
When Install it manually, choose it as an LPT, uninstall the LPT1 on the motherbord and give the fitted port the LPT 1 and the correct adress, the port still does not respond to changes in mach.
Do you know the procedure to install it correctly (original PLT1 port is permanently fitted onto motherbord)

Regards
