I recently ran into this same problem when trying to import a simple circle.  After a lot of fiddling around to no avail, I added a simple square to my .dxf and everything imported OK into Lazy cam and then I deleted the square in Lcam.  So, I think the problem is importing the arcs/circles???

What Version of Mach are you using?

Hmm,  My machine is et up exactly as you describe but I idn't have to do anything special to get there.  Why couldn't you just go to the Config screen for ports & pins and reverse/play around with the pin #'s for your X & Y axis until you get what you want?

HTH,

Inches is Inches- everything, the whole enchilada- you need not set anything else.

If you tell the machine to move 2 in and it does not (moves more or less) then you don't have your motor tuning set right.  I also suspect that you have no gear reduction on your servos which is probably what is causing you to lose steps at higher speeds.

Hey Fellas,  I used to use the DPAD but when ART wrote a plugin for the ShuttlePro pendant I decided to get one and give it a whirl.  It works GREAT and I think will solve all the problems you are going through.  Even if you don't have the Shuttle Pro pendant you can download and install the plugin and play around with the configuration screen to see just exactly what you can do with it.  The Jog wheel (actually there are 2 jog wheels) works very similar to a mpg- check it out!

ACAD 14 will work just fine.  Do you draw to scale in Acad?  Do you understand how to check your dimensions in ACAD.  If you do, then Lazycam will convert your drawings to G-Caode in exactly in the same scale (i.e. 1" = 1")  In addition, you call also use a G51 command in your G-Code to Scale the AXIS command by whatever scale factor you wish for example G51 X.5 Y.5 would reduce all X & Y commands by 50%.

Good Luck,
Sid

I agree with allanjs, using the Safe Z would fix your problem but, what/who made your G-Code?

If somebody actually wrote the code, why not just edit the code so the Z command happens after the X & Y travel to the proper position.  Or, if the code was generated by Lazy cam, I think you need to set the rapid Z depth so it won't hit your part.

Good Luck.

Look under your configuration for an IJ Mode- try changing it to Incremental (it sounds like you have it set to absolute)  Good Luck
