General Mach Discussion / Re: Flame Cutting
« on: October 26, 2008, 04:02:10 AM »
Hi Jim,

I am looking for a kind of THC application as in a Plasma.

The M3 function is clear to me.

Is there any mechanism for the ignition and where to source the solenoid valves.

Hi All,

Planning to assemble a CNC Flame cutting.

Does anyone know of a Torch height control for Flame cutting,

And how is the initial ignition done?

By lowering the Z axis velocity, this will again reduce my Z axis speed during probing.....I want the probing speed to remain same.

Thanks Scott

Got the THC running after a long time..

Everything is working fine...................... I would like to reduce the speed of the corrections done to the Z axis by the THC.

Antony.

General Mach Discussion / THC 300
« on: September 30, 2008, 09:25:20 PM »
Hi All,

I have been using plasma for a while and recently decided to add a THC 300 to it.

the indexing operation is working fine with the torch,  but the program stips at M3

code and does not turn the torch ON, torch can be turned on

manually no problem with the signal from card to the relay.

Mach3 under Vista / Vista
« on: September 30, 2008, 07:11:09 AM »
Hi All,

Have been using a plasma for sometime.

Really impressed to see what mach can do with XP.

Now that MS decided to discontinue XP, will Mach be able to deliver its punch in Vista.

Any problems if I change to vista?

General Mach Discussion / backlash
« on: June 18, 2006, 10:27:59 AM »
Hai All,
I am setting up a router with a servo drive.
The problem i am facing is that the gearbox of the servo motor is having a backlash of 2degrees on the gear end.
I want to use the gear box and do not plan to use a timing belt.
So I plan to install the encoder to the shaft of the gear box and not the motor spindle.
Will this cause any unnecessary hunting of the system.
I plan to use a higher count encoder so that accuracy is not compromised

Regards,
Antony.
