General Mach Discussion / Re: All settings gone awol
« on: July 04, 2007, 01:06:47 AM »
I have also had prob.with installing a newer version of mach. I had v1.84 had bugs with my THC (i'm plasma) upgraded to 2.05 went ok.  I try to upgrade to 2.30, 2.65, it won't load all my g-code it gets to line 19 and says "radias at beggining of acr is differnt than radias at end of arc". I get a charge pump and motor movement manually.  Don't make sence I reinstall 2.05 and everything works.
I install 2.80 and nothing works no charge pump no motor movement.

I tried changing the IJ mode and no go. In the pulse freq. it said simulate and there is no "charge pump". I will reexamine but I think all the settings are the same. Tried 2v80 and same thing but when I install 2v05 it says 2v... already installed do you want upgrade to 2v05 and I say yes and the 2v05 works fine.

General Mach Discussion / Installing new version of mach 3

I'm trying to install a newer version of mach 3. I have v2.05 running and everything works.
When I instal v2.65 it won't work. When I load g code it dose'nt load it all and gives an error:  Radias at beggining of arc differs from radias at end of arc on line 20. It also does this if I try to install v2.30

I'm using PLASMA and this looks like it's the leadin arc that the error is on. BUT the v2.05 has no prob. same g code loaded from the same place.

I reinstall v2.05 and everything works again.   Thanks for any help.

I have a pre packaged table it was working ok I upgraded to the new nach 3 2 65 and it won't regen. toolpath past line 19 it says error plasma. o.o56 inch kerf 1/4
radius to end of arc differs from radius to start on line #19
and even before I have trouble scroling through the code if it screwed up to restart in the middle of a program still would'nt go past line 19.
I'm running a dyna cnc table with cand cnc thc mp 1000 sheetcam and mach.

General Mach Discussion / Re: plasma floating z zero offset

Yes I'm running a THC cand cnc I switched from the machine shield PN# 120930 that conceals the nozzle to a deflector shield that exposes the nozzle and that works perfect It's a hypertherm 1000 plasma. I tried putting the offset in Mach 3 and it did
nt work and I was told to put it in sheetcam when I generate the g-code. which shield are you to use?

I did that and it still does'nt work. still dives into the metal cutting out the 3/4 hole. I'm cutting the hole at 10 ipm and the rest of the part at 41 ipm 3/8" thick steel. is that the diff? should I be cutting the hole out faster? I'll try that next.

So this should be a positive .065 or a neg. -.065 to lift it off the metal. Thanks.

I don't know where exactly to put in the z offset to account for the floating head offset it's .065 I know to goto config.-homing/limits but I don't know which line to put it in. I'm cutting a tear shaped part out of 3/8" steel with a 3/4 hole in the center when it cuts the hole it dives the torch into the metal but it cuts the outer pretty good. I don't have any offset in the program I'm using sheetcam with the proper pierice height them after pierice it dives into the metal for the whole circle then it adjusts quickly to cut the outer. Am I doing something wrong? other than the z offset. Thanks.
