General Mach Discussion / Re: losing communication with UC-100
« on: October 13, 2021, 02:08:39 PM »
I used a USB motion controller for a long time and after trying literally everything, from changing cable, moving computer, using shorter cable, RF filters, ferrite... I still had the problem of loosing communication randomly when spindle turned on or when I would switch on the hoover next to the machine. In the end I moved on to an ethernet controller and never had a single problem after that. bite the bullet and spend those £ 150, you will not regret it

your need to change "dirlowactive" in configuration. that will reverse the direction on the axis

General Mach Discussion / mach3 goes to Z5 when pressing STOP
« on: August 21, 2021, 09:32:02 AM »
Hello everyone,
a lot of times I need to set Z0 below the top of material and every time I do that I cannot press STOP if something goes wrong because when I press STOP mach3 goes to Z5... this is fine if you have Z0 on top of the job, but say you have your Z0 20mm below the top of the job... the cutter will crash into the material. Does anyone know if it is possible to change this behaviour? e.g. pressing STOP will NOT lift Z, or will lift Z 5 or whatever mm above current position, not going to absolute Z5?
many thanks to whoever will answer
