General Mach Discussion / Mach3 and probe test height setter thingy
« on: January 22, 2021, 05:22:50 AM »
Hi all,

System windows 7 pro 32bit
Machine 3040t very first edition machine - with a few upgrades.

Guys im after the wiring diagram for setting up the entire machine from Computer 25pin D connector LPT1) to the entire machine wiring.

my machine has no end stop switches (of which i plan to fit later next week)
i will need the diagram to show what where and how please if poss.

also whilst doing any wiring mods i want to put in a stop button and probe setting for tool height.
I do believe its pin 15 on the LPT1 port for this ???

Also if poss can anyone tell me what i need to change in the software to make the switches work and the probe height too please?

I presume for ease all the swithces and probe pick up are to ground (chassis of the machine) meaning i only need 1 wire per switch per axis.

so therefore in total i will need

x,y,z,A axis switches (4 wires)
probe contact ( 1 wire)
Stop button (1 Wire)

can anyone help please?

Im sure im not the only one needing this information and wouldnt be surprised if its not been asked before but there are so many threads the search engine can not find anything to suit.

Many thanks

Chris

Hi all.

I need help.

not the first time thats been said either ....lol

OK system windows 7 pro 32bit
Machine - 3040t one ofthe very eary units which used to have the flexi drive on it.

ok ive got the system up and running with the the new USB WHB04B handwheel which i must say is a god send and if you havent got one you should.

ok ive removed the control card in the control box which is the very old TOLSON control board type  (of which i want to remove and replace with something far newer when i can afford to )

ive fitted a 0 to 10v speed controller and 600watt air cooled spindle motor ( a little big but got it at the right money - etc)
ive wired this into the 0 to 10v control that was origonally in for the control board for the flexi drive....
i can not get the software to control the seperate speed controller -  any suggestions.

So far all ive done is turned it on in the software configuration (enable) ive not done any more than that.

can anyone offer any suggestions please to help?

thanks #

Chris

Hi all can someone help please?

Im running Mach3
Using USB MPG - whb04b model for manual control
both work fine togetrher
system windows 7 pro 32bit.

Ok how can i get the correct MPG image up on the main page on the right hand side.
when i go to configure the MPG it shows me a different type of MPG and not the whb04b type.

ive tried to find an image of the controller to use and set up although it would of been nice to see a fully programmed image with all the features being illuminated as you use the controller.

can anyone help with this please?

thanks

Chris

Cnc is driving me mad.
I need serious help
I can not get my laptop to talk with my cnc.
Using Windows 7 3040t mill
Lpt1 port.
And nothing happens.
4.6volts on out puts

Laptop on a docking station to give me a parrallel port
When in device manager I can make motor glitch only once when I change lpt1 to 2 to 3 etc.
I can't change the port configuration.
I'm rapidly loosing the will to live.
I've had this mill 5yrs and still can not get comes with it.
I've fitted a new 600watt air cooled spindle motor check all the wiring and voltages and come to the conclusion it's my laptop that is at fault.
But way and how can I use it.
Let port set to ecu.
Turned on.
No conflicts and driver saying all OK and upto date.
I wasn't expecting so much hassle just to get this mill to communicate with this old Dell Latitude D430 laptop.

I need serious help
Please
