Hi, we ran a Cat5 cable to a switch and then 2 separate Cat5 cables to the DMC and RIO. The RIO has a built in switch, so you could run a single cable to it and then from there to the DMC. We didn't do that because we put the RIO in the head unit and DMC in the control cabinet (Biesse Rover 336) and didn't want to run another Cat5 cable to the head.

As far as I know, the Galil suite can only address one controller at a time, so either the DMC or RIO. You select which one and then can fire outputs, look at inputs, etc.

Hello again
This is an odd problem, I suspect the Galil plug-in.
I'm using a Galil DMC-4143 Motion Controller and Galil RIO_47300 I/O Controller
My problem is that Mach4 does not seem to recognize any inputs from the I/O Controller. Outputs work fine.
The Inputs are mapped and show up in the Machine.ini file.
When using the Galil Suite software, I am able to see the inputs toggle, so I know that all the I/O's are working.
The Inputs to the Motion Controller work fine.
When I use the Mach4 Diagnostics Logging, none of the I/O Controller inputs show up, whereas the Outputs log data.
The only other clue I have, is that when I run a script essentially saying "wait for an input to go high"(i.e. a push button) Mach4 treats it as if it is already high.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance. -Eric

Mach4 General Discussion / Re: Problem saving Screen Scripts
« on: March 08, 2019, 03:09:28 PM »
"After that last step of "Click on Operator\Edit Screen" are you clicking Yes when it asks if you wish to save the current screen?"

No, it doesn't ask. So that got me thinking and clicking.  If I close out ZeroBrane after editing it will ask. Problem Solved (or at least a work around). Thanks!

Mach4 General Discussion / Problem saving Screen Scripts
« on: March 08, 2019, 11:41:39 AM »
Hello all,
Hopefully this is a easy one and I'm just missing a step.  2 weeks ago, I could save my screen scripts and now I can't.
So here is the process I'm using:
Save Screen as- a new name
Goto Operator\Edit Screen
Click on top Screen name in Screen Tree Manager
Click on lightning Bolt
Click on Screen Load Script
Click on ...
ZeroBrane Studio opens. When it opens the name of the file is something like: le40ED.mcs
and the path is:  C:\User\login_name\AppData\Local\Temp\le40ED.msc. Is this correct?
So, I can edit it, and save it.
Click on Operator\Edit Screen
Mach4 resets, I go through the edit process again and my changes are not saved.
Any clues? Thanks in advance. -Eric

Mach4 General Discussion / Re: Mach4 Output Config. gets lost with shutdown
« on: February 26, 2019, 01:33:08 PM »
Thanks for your reply's. I figured it out. I have to have the motion controller and I/O controller connected and turned on.
Sometimes I launch Mach4 without turning on the machine (a Biesse 336 Router that I'm updating). If the machine is not on, and I close Mach4, I loose those settings (they don't get written to the ini file).
To answer some of your questions: The Motion Controller and I/O Controller are Ethernet based and are connected to the PC via a switch, as they have different addresses.
The Output configuration has a drop down list for Device and you select the controller, keyboard etc.  The Output name has a drop down list that matches the outputs of the controller.
Anyway, got to run. Thanks again, -Eric

Mach4 General Discussion / Mach4 Output Config. gets lost with shutdown
« on: February 25, 2019, 03:53:09 PM »
Hi all, first post. I have lots of questions and my first is: When I close Mach4, I loose my Device and Output Name and therefore control of my outputs. The Mapping Enable is still checked and the Description is still there. If I am opening and closing Mach4 during the day, there is no problem. It's only when it's shut down for a day or 2.  I'm using the Galil Plug-in and a DMC-41730 Motion Controller with a RIO-47300 I/O Controller. Any clues?
Thanks,
-Eric
