General Mach Discussion / Re: Zero plate problem
« on: June 30, 2008, 12:54:33 PM »
Thanks for the help.

I did already check to make sure the pin was not being used by something else but will double check it.
I do not think it is the breakout board as I have the problem even with the parallel cable disconnected.
Maybe I will assign the probe to another pin and see if Mach sees it any differently and that will also help to confirm if it is a computer motherboard problem as the parallel port is on the Motherboard.

Thanks Again
George

General Mach Discussion / Zero plate problem
« on: June 29, 2008, 06:59:29 PM »
I am trying to add a touch plate using the XYZ probe modification from the CNC Zone forum.
The problem I am having is Mach always sees the digitize input as always active (status light on) even if I unplug the parallel cable.
I do have the probe input pin set to active low.
I have Mach on a computer in my office and with the same settings the digitize input is not active (status light off).
Have the same version on both computers and have also tried different versions and reinstalling.
If I change the input to active high the light just stays out and the touch plate still does not work.

 Any ideas?

 Thanks

General Mach Discussion / Not ignoring tool change
« on: January 12, 2008, 08:20:41 PM »
After upgrading to version 3.00 when I get to this line N40t1m06 Mach waits for me to press cycle start again before continuing.  I have ignore tool change selected in configuration.  This is the same file that I ran in the previous version without this problem.  Any ideas what is causing this?

Thanks
George

Brian,

Was the CV problem fixed in ver. 2.45 released today or will it be fixed in the next version?
Also some sort of tutorial or manual on what all the CV settings do and a how to go about setting them would be great.

Thanks
George

It would be nice if someone could do a tutorial or something explaining the CV settings as I have tried many different settings and get either rounded corners or it stops at every segment.  I still have not figured out what the settings do.

Thanks

General Mach Discussion / CV feedrate question
« on: August 21, 2007, 06:48:06 PM »
On the settings screen what is the CV feedrate for and how do you determine what the setting should be.  Also how do you determine the CV distance tolerance?  My axis are set with a velocity of 600" min., 35 acceleration and I will most likely be cutting at 300"-400"  min.

Thanks

General Mach Discussion / Re: Steppers rhythmically stuttering
« on: August 21, 2007, 06:42:08 PM »
I found out what the problem is.  I use a USB flash drive to transfer files from my design computer to the Mach computer.  When the flash drive is plugged in I get the stuttering problem.  When I remove it the stuttering goes away.  So the problem is fixed. :)
This is the same computer I used with the old router and did not have the problem.  Must be the differences in the way Mach is now configured.  I will just make sure I remove the flash drive before running the router.

Thanks for listening and the screen capture advise, I'm sure I will need it in the future.

Sorry I should have been more clear.  How do I get a screen shot of the test screen?  Is there a selection on the screen to select to save a screen shot or do I have to use another program.  I am not at the computer with Mach installed, maybe when I get to that computer later today it will be clear.

Thanks
