This is a common problem with Screen4 and the only way i have figured out to fix it is to install Machscreen and use that program rather than Screen4

What i ended up doing is adding a encrypted folder with the computer and having 2 screen sets for the router. 1 for the operator that has very limited ability and one for us to maintenance the router that is in the encrypted folder.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Mach3 Windows 10 update -- don't do it
« on: June 29, 2018, 03:34:02 PM »
I was able to launch and run Mach 3 on Windows 10 in early 2017. However once I really started to use Mach3 (the last couple weeks) I cannot even launch Mach3 on windows 10. Is Mach3 in Visual C++ and can it be manipulated so that it can run on the newest version of Windows 10?

Hello I have never used mach before but my boss ordered a 4 axis router as a job to install in another company. I am a college student and have been tasked with learning Mach3 and modifying the UI so that the other company cannot mess with the program at all. Mach3 is also linked to a PLC that is in control of all the safety features. I have never used Mach software before this week and my CAM software to generate G-Code is MasterCAM. The use for the router is when you hit a button it will clamp down on a part to a fixture extend the fixture out to a saw blade to cut off the end of the part then retract once a proximity sensor is tripped and once it is fully retracted, cut 25 holes into the part and 2 on the end. The 4th axis is on the spindle and is fundamentally a 5th axis but rotates along the Y axis. There are also safety light curtains and E-Stops around the router because it is not going to be for personal use.

Is it possible to add a password to Mach3 screens? I am installing a router for a company for production. I would like to have where they can adjust feedrate and simple things on one screen but to do anything advanced like editing the G-Code they would have to call me and it be password protected. If this is possible please let me know.

Hello I have built a 4 axis CNC router and me and my company are going to install it in another local company. I would like a screen set so that it can be troubleshooted by the other company but not change programs. I would also like to change programs being password protected. The problem is I do not know how to edit existing screens successfully. I have tried Screen 4 and have had no luck. I have the router configured to have X, Y, Y1, Z, and 4. The 4th axis is on the spindle to be able to rotate along the X axis. The Y and Y1 axis are just parallel Y axis. I would like to be able to monitor the router and its progress on the 1st screen and have a password to unlock a 2nd screen where the router can be actually worked on.
