General Mach Discussion / RefAllHome issues
« on: August 13, 2018, 05:32:53 PM »
Hi

I have a couple of issues with zeroing my CNC;

1/ When i RefAllHome with the Y axis it slows down, goes to zero then Y5 & then goes the opposite direction it should go ie. away from the home switch... forever(?)
If i change the motor tuning acceleration to 80 (from 400) it works as it should- but it's frustrating having to do this & back again every time.

2/ When i run G28.1 X10Y10Z10 from MDI it works fine. When i put this into a gcode & run it repeats itself over & over - is there a way to tell it to stop?

Cheers

General Mach Discussion / Re: Losing offsets
« on: March 15, 2018, 02:27:29 PM »
Thanks for your responses. I'll disconnect from the network ...it shares a network with my other computer where i design the files.
I'll disconnect from internet & hope for the best.

But this really only treats the symptom but not the cure - what if the power goes off (i have a laptop but still)?
What if (unsurprisingly) Windows crashes?

I'm still getting to grips with Mach3 & CNC in general but isn't having accurate, reliable, constant offsets really important?

Last night i had to align my new reset G56 to the spoilboard by "eye" like a caveman & i really didn't like it.

General Mach Discussion / Losing offsets
« on: March 14, 2018, 04:37:07 PM »
Hi

Just got to work to find Windows 10 had updated & restarted the computer.

And now my offsets (i only use G56, but it's important) are gone.

How do i permanently store offsets in Mach3?

I've clicked Offsets / Save Work Offsets / Save - does this do anything?
Apparently not... i just tried saving a new offset, restarting the computer (without fixture save - Windows update won't click it when updating) & nope... my G56 is now somewhere else.

My general config looks as in the attached image.

Is there a setting i'm missing that stores offsets permanently?

Cheers

Great thank you - hitting shift seems to fix it.

General Mach Discussion / MDI stops working - cannot enter input
« on: February 18, 2018, 07:22:42 PM »
Hi

I'm trying to do some general MDI milling but after a few commands the input function stops working...

I spin my mill up eg. S10000, M3 enter a command in the MDI line eg. Z0 & all is good.

Then i jog around the wood using arrow keys; now i try to enter anything into the MDI input & while i can type out the command eg. Y50 i can't 'enter' it... the enter key literally doesn't work.

From here i have to restart Mach3 (which fixes it) & try again.

Any ideas why this could be happening?

Cheers
