Mach4 General Discussion / Re: Probing
« on: November 27, 2020, 10:47:01 PM »
Im with you, the probing script is absolute crap. I run M4 ESS on a MB2. I can get corner finding to work..ish, but bores, bosses and calibration are all no go.

Minor update...it only happens when I jog the quill. If I simply hit the switch by hand, it is able to reset without a problem. If I hit it with the quill being jogged, I have to turn off my control cabinet, manually jog the quill up by hand. Turn the cabinet back on and re-open Mach4. Then it will clear the Spurious hit error.

Mach4 General Discussion / ESS- Spurious Limit-hit ???
« on: November 24, 2017, 03:39:47 PM »
Hey guys,
Decided to re-wire some limit switches today and split up the Z axis limit switches so I have ++ and -- hits rather than just a general limit switch.

Anywho, I split them up, using X112 and X111, the switches use a common ground port on the MB2. Z++ limit works as it should but when I hit Z-- I get a error message in the bottom
window saying "Clearing a Spurious limit_hit_latch event." Then it says go into diagnostics>logging to view error.

So I went and pulled the log and it says to add timing buffer or fix the switch, easy enough.

Add timing buffer all the way up too 4000, no change.
Switch ohms out properly, it cleanly breaks the signal.

I'm a bit at a loss here. I wire up million dollar control systems on the regular and this little $400 thing keeps throwing me curve balls.

Let me know when you get a MB2 then and let me know how easy it is to set up. I'm sure you'll figure out the ready signal input thats linked to one of the pins from just reading the manual right. SMH

I managed to update the pluggin. Still has a few issues that cause me restarts. And again, if you looked through an actual MB2 profile, you would see certain pins are linked to ready signals and such, so creating a profile from scratch isnt as straight forward as you think. I appreciate you trying to help, but please, do look into the subject further.
