PoKeys / Re: MACH4 AND POKEYS57CNC CANNOT SET SPINDLE SPEED
« on: October 28, 2021, 01:56:56 PM »
For anyone who has this issue in the future.

Ok so I figured this one out.  Turns out that Pokeys57CNC and Mach4 don't play nice when you set the Spindle Mode to "Const. Surface" (On Mach4 Control, Defaults Tab).  There is no literature on this!  I changed this thinking it would be good for surface finish.

Mach4 and PoScope:  If your're reading this please update your appropriate manuals!

The only way I found a way out of this is to randomly cycle through changes, fumbling my way through.  Seems a very hackish way to go about things.

Thanks.
Thank you!

I gave up.  Not enough ram on video card.  Using new machine instead.

Mach4 General Discussion / Mach4 Shuts down when loading any g-code file.
« on: November 06, 2018, 10:41:14 PM »
I need some help, I installed mach 4 on an older xp PC. It installed fine, and starts. as soon as I try to load ANY g-code file it immediately force closes. I use the exact same setup on two other machines without trouble. I have tried everything I can think of. Clean install, service pack 3, latest MACH4, etc. It fails on mill and lathe profiles, mine and oem. The lathe functions, moves, can jog , etc...  Thank you very much

Thanks resalles for the script.

I got Spindle calibration to work with your script.

Here are the step i took to get it to work.
1. I set the pulley to 1, min to 0, max to 1000.
2. turn on the spindle, set speed from S0 till the spindle start to move. note the speed (mine is about 110 to 120 RPM)
3. Max out the motor speed by type S1000 into the MDI, speed was about 12928
4. change the min spped to 120 and max to 12928 ( I think can set to 12500 or anything max speed toy like)
5. key in the min and max in the spreadsheet
6. Type the speed from from the spreadsheet and key in the measured speed, repeat 100 times.
7. generate the Linearity.dat file.

it works within 200rpm + -

Thank you very much!
