Asked the support yesterday. All info I got is that the versions on the FTP are not stable.
When I asked when next stable version is released I didn't get any response.
Fortunately there are other controls available. That's it for Mach4 on my machine...

Have you disabled Mach4?

I asked myself this question too. Would appreciate an answer by ArtSoft.
Seems to me that Mach4 development has slowed down a lot...

The spindle motor is a 550W AC Motor which gives me a max. speed of 3000 min-1 on the spindle. It could run even faster but i don't need it...
I equipped the turret with optical sensors to detect the position, because I didn't like the time based control. To make it work you need a custom tool change macro in Mach4. I am not a software guy so lets just say i made it work but i guess the code could have been done much cleaner and more efficiently.
Please refer to the forum cncecke.de. I have posted several images of the modifications there.

Hi

I have a C5 CNC with pokeys 57 CNC. You can find information in this forum: www.cncecke.de

In short: I replaced the spindle motor with a new motor and a VFD. I also replaced the spindle encoder and threading works flawlessly. The turret is controlled with a pololu dc motor driver which recieves PWM from pokeys.

Hi,
then how would you recommend that you manually jog/MDI and Machs DROs keep track and yet have no motor movement?

Clearly there needs to be some code that re-aligns the controlled point in such a manner that the homing again makes
sense before the servos are re-enabled.

Craig

I don't have a better suggestions at the moment. Just wanted to point out that if you disable a stepper motor that is operated with microstepping, it will loose its position when disabled.

If you disable the drive after homing, the motor will fall back to a full step position. Therefore you have a position error. Would not recommend doing that.

Hi,
I'm not certain, but I believe Vital Systems Hicon is the only Mach4 ready controller that has lathe threading.
Maybe some others can fill us in on where some of the other brands are at.

Craig

Pokeys has lathe threading as well.

Thank you Steve. I will try that.

Is there a way to start Mach in fullscreen?

Thanks,
Martin

Here is a test part i cut on my recently converted Emco C5 CNC. There is a leadout programmed (and on the part) but I didn't try if i can control it exactly the way I want.
It is Pokeys 57 CNC
