« on: December 16, 2023, 12:09:25 PM »
I'm using Mach 4 with a small hobby Lathe, and have the turret set to 0 on the tool in Fusion, and the motor setup in Mach to controll the poaitive direction.

Newfangled Mill Wizard / Newfangled Mill Wizard Tool path display blank
« on: January 15, 2018, 02:35:31 PM »
The wizard produces the gcode and all, but does not display the path in the center window.   Any ideas.?  Running version 2.0.4x on a windows 7 platform.

My procedure is......
Do a tool change T0101
Touch off on the part, or cut a new diameter...
Measure the diameter, without moving x
Go to the tool table, click in the tool 1 x blank
enter the diameter at the bottom and select measure.
The x dro should show the correct diameter.

i wish i had read this post, before diving in, but i'm here now with a lathe and Mach4 and not much help or info it seems.

How do we start a place or page dedicated specifically to mach4 an the lathe.  so we can post bugs, wish list etc.  My first wish is an operations manual, like mill has.

General Mach Discussion / Re: MACH3 Demo
« on: June 26, 2015, 03:59:25 PM »
I didn't think M3 worked without a parallel port, unless you had an external motion device.......ie smoothe stepper?  Also Win 7 32 bit is only version I think.  I get 3 and 4 confused a lot.

Mach3 under Vista / Re: 3020T and Win10 64 bit

Have you tried it with M4?
Do you have a list of which modules are required by M3 or M4

It sounds like an interesting way to simplify.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Mach3 issues on Windows Xp! Please help!
« on: April 22, 2015, 08:18:43 PM »
Yes Windows updates.  XP is not being developed so there is a limited number, but where ever you load from it's probably not the last one.  Same for any other drivers that you are using video cards Parallel port etc.  I was having hell, updated everything that had a driver and it worked fine.........  I agree with the rest of the group,  your time is worth more than an XP license would be..........

I would also suggest getting all the updates installed in either operating system, before you load Mach.

Do you have any info on the motors,  make model etc,,,, can you google.

what is needed to setup, is the pins that control direction and step on each motor.  If it was running before, I assume that all we need to do is set the software to the right settings and not mess with the switches.

The interface is a parallel port? If so pins are limited, 2,3 4,5 6,7 maybe

Take one axis at a time and see if any combination will generate some reaction.

Anything indicated on the circuit board in the controller?
