Review DTG vidieos he explains it it one of his ox builds

No ball screws then AFAIK mach4 is not to good yet on backlash

But use a jo block and a dti to measure your movement.

There is a good right up in the Mach 3 manual , m4 does not have the auto tune though

It is explained in the m4 manual as well it's just a simple maths problem

Will they be updating Mach4?

Take a look at the formula i use in the video for fine tuning my x axis, you will need to be at about 10 min mark.

My A and B axis is off by 1 degree and my XYZ is probably off too though I haven't checked yet.  How do I tune in my axis in mach4?  My XYZ axis uses lead screws that are M8 x 1.25 just in case someone is wondering.  A and B are geared at a 8:1 reduction.

Just to let you know you may have to use G93 Inverse Time for the feed rate to come out right with angular movements we have to use it on our 5 axis water jet we are still on Mach3 but I would think its the same with m4

I'll keep that in mind.  Thank you.

Does anyone have a simple 5 axis NC file that will run under Mach4 just for testing?

Ok I think I FINALLY I got my little five axis CNC mill working thanks to Daz but I still have a lot of work to do on it.  I can jog all five axis in Mach4 but I had to use a different BOB with the smoothstepper.  The C25S wouldn't work for what ever reason.  Does this forum allow photos?

That sounds like the X Step connection is working but the X Direction connection is not.

That has happened to me before.

What was your fix?
