Hi TP,
I tried powering down and rebooting and power down to no avail, still getting the problem of no Jog. I am new to this machine and do not know where the servo`s are to cancel. Any idea ? I appreciate any help as the boss is due back Tuesday. Cheers

General Mach Discussion / ProtoTrak SMX 4000 crash

Hi folks ,

Need some help with a problem i landed myself in today. I had a crash on the toolroom PortoTrak SMX 4000 milling machine. I programmed a part for facing off and altered the program for the following parts so that i was facing off down to zero
instead of machining negative figures from zero. What i did was machined down to zero from stock of 7mm oversize.
The conventional way was to rapid to 2mm above the plane and work my way down to -7mm. When i re-zeroed my Z  axis after facing off my new machine face became zero. But i forgot to change the rapid approach to 9mm but used 2mm from the old setting so
the machine had a wee crash. On this machine you give a z rapid and finish value, the rapid was okay at 9mm but i never changed the z finish value from 2mm to 9mm so it matched the rapid.
I freed the part (aluminum) and now i cannot jog X Y or Z axis,, i get Z axis servo fault. check hard stops, connections and remove any obstructions.
Is there an overload sensor i need to reset so i can jog axis ? i have tried resetting the machine, powering down and up to no avail. I would appreciate any help on this matter ASAP. Machine moves perfectly using handles but wont jog via electronic screen options.
