General Mach Discussion / config mach3 for PCB engraving
« on: November 24, 2014, 02:49:00 PM »
hi
i have one more question :
i have done with my pcb with eagle and already has the G-CODE file for the tracks and drilling etc
my problem is when i load the file in mach what i have to do to get my pcb done ex:
how i set the zero point of a workpiece ?and if i did does that mean the mach will start cut and..etc from this poitn or it will navigate to somewhere else? and how can i tell mach to stic with the design !voz when i load random gcode from mache default folder some of the axis goes far way of it's limit ?
correct me if i am wrong but doesn't it the mach will never go far of (the axis) as long as my design within the range of my table ?
my table overall size is 550mm*500mm (not the working area it's over all the aluminum plate the it hold my piece which i mean my working area it might be between 450*490( + - )?
:) :p

hello
i have a question and i can't find the answer for it
i have a LS(LG)  VFD Korean one     it's 1.5KW 2HP
AND the spindle unfortunately 2.2KW  3HP   so all i am asking can i run the spindle according to the VFD max output i mean could i use the VFD to run the spindle with the specs of the 1.5KW spindle coz i don't not neeed all the 3 horse power inust want to rin the spindle like it's 1.5 KW ones?
is it possible ?

General Mach Discussion / Re: Problems with jog
« on: November 06, 2014, 06:24:07 AM »
I am converting my lathe to CNC and going through the configuring process.  The controller is from Camtronics and uses the Gecko 540 board.  So far things seem to be OK except the jog function does not work, jog increment works fine, jog does not respond.  I am not sure where to look to try and solve this problem.  I have certainly tried a lot of things that do not work.  When I first loaded Mach3, and no controller attached or configuration changes made, jog seemed to work in that when I pressed the arrow keys the X and Z readouts on the screen changed.

Where should I start looking to solve this problem?

Thanks, Dennis
HI,transformer
it seems that yo have problem when you manual jogging here is what you have to check:
#1 check that ya have done thing right (prots ans pins  in mach ports and pins config) and set the right stp pin and dir pin probably  according to your board data sheet
make sure ya did not turn on/off the jogging function in mach  and you did not pressed the offline button
> ya said that the mach default setting  worked  just fine  bit  so i assume that you connected all the wire right
try and fell free to ask :) just check for these things first

See reply to your post here http://openbuilds.com/threads/i-cannot-get-my-axis-move-right-in-mach3.833/

Tweakie.
i used mach to calculate that by using calculate steps per unit for each axis and it comes up with
103.427896  for (X)
114.6788991 for (Y)
114.9425287 for (Z)
and hen i get mach to move x to 1mm it goes 6.99=7mm!!
