General Mach Discussion / Re: SaleCNC XJ1325 setup
« on: October 18, 2014, 08:06:54 PM »
Thanks for the input, Hood.  Already checked all that.  We've managed to have some success.  The seller provided no doc regarding breakout board configuration, nor what to set in Mach3 configuration.  We basically started from scratch with a meter to figure most of it out.

We haven't figured out the spindle wiring nor Mach3 interfacing to that.l

General Mach Discussion / SaleCNC XJ1325 setup
« on: October 14, 2014, 06:43:30 PM »
We purchased the xj1325 and are unable to get communication between it and Mach3.  It came with a generic LPT breakout board already wired to the CNC side.  Test points on the board are triggered for limit switches (we put a voltemeter on the designated terminals), yet nothing seems to get through the LPT to mach3, and conversely mach3 triggers LPT pins, but doesn't seem to be able to get through to the board.  We've tried different computers and cables.  The SaleCNC contact initially provided no configuration info, but has done so now.  Yet nothing seems to get passed via LPT. regardless.  I feel like we're misunderstanding something about configuration, and have followed steps from available documentation.

Does anyone have this CNC?  Or have any knowledge or pointers?  Tricks to try?  Some well defined method for verifying the breakout board?

Thanks for any insight anyone might offer up.
