Cheers Nick...I screwed up on the units when re-installing.

That bit is fine.

Still not sure why my Z is flipped though. Pins and ports are good.

Thanks,

S

Thanks for the advice. I have cleaned everything up, and re-installed the software.

Now everything is almost OK.

If I press up and down on the arrows for the Z on the keyboard they are the wrong way round. down moves it up and vice versa.
It's a bit stutter as it moves up and down too. Perhaps a tired steppa motor?

And another odd thing....

If I load G code it seems to think that the workpiece is REALLY Small. For example if I create code for a circle of 4 inches diameter, it seems to think that the code relates to a circle that is less than an inch

IS there something I need to do to marry the code world with the physical world in the software.

Thanks,

Simon

Thanks for taking the time to reply..

Yes the readouts go up and down as they should. It's just the spindle that seems to be scrambled.

What does that mean?

Hello.
router have been running fine for a year or so.

But recently I started getting terrible drift on the Z axis...cutter going down an inch even on a shallow cut.

So I uninstalled and re-installed the software.

NOW it has got really bad.

Even with correct ports and pins and motor setup for my machine...the X, Y and Z arrow keys dont work the way they should.

X moves in same direction for both keys.
The Z buttons move the Y to the top when pressing either button.
And the Y buttons do nothing at all.

CAn anyone help with this?

Thanks,

Simon

I have been using Mach 3 for a couple of years without any major problems.

After a break for a couple of months, I turned my machine on and did the usual startup.

but….even though cables haven't been swapped the following crazy behaviour was noted:

If I use the keyboard or toggle for the Y axis, the direction of the motors is reversed.

The Y axis buttons on keyboard or toggle control the spindle!

and the up and down buttons or Z axis toggle, does nothing.

How can this happen?

Pins and ports look good.

Can anyone help on this?

Thanks

Simon
