General Mach Discussion / CAD CAM Software Prob
« on: May 18, 2006, 05:08:01 AM »
Hello,

We have been trying to get LAZYCAM to work (convert a DXF to G code) Does anybody have a software solution that will convert a  DXF file done in Corel Draw 11 or 12 to a useable GCODE for used by Mach2 or 3?

After 6 mos i still cant get this MAXPATH42 CNC machine to do anything. Please help.

Thank you!

ok i think i know now what to do  :-\ ::).. first is to download the latest version and test again. wow! we always have new updated version from time to time.. which is good.
we users just have to check if our versions are up to date. ;)

i can't home my machine too. and my axes are reversed. my z for example, it should start 0 from the top going negative downwards. right now, it's reversed. even if i click "reverse" it doesn't work...and more thing for instance i already reached the lowest my max z can travel, how do i bring it back up?

here are the screen shots of my configs

wow great thanks for your help.. yes will send you the xml file.

i have my machine responded ( i have figured that my parallel port is not working- of the pc where i hooked the CNC)  i have used the cnc software that MAXPATH provided, it worked. however it is not working yet with mach2. i will still talk to MItchell and see how woud help me figure things out.
 :)
thanks. i will send you the xml file and i think it's smarter to use 3.

Great weekend to you!

and works well for your CNC? what CNC machine are you using? ok i will try to install MACH3 and ask Mitchell of MAXNC and will hear what he will say about MACH3... and if he could help me with the pin and emulation setup.

right now my machine is not responding. just powers up and nothing

 :-\

thank you so much tho for your idea. Great day to you...

anyway, why should i run mach3 instead of 2? is it more easier to configure?

Thanks for the help once again...
