Dan,
Can you explain how to get the macro to work in mach3. I know you place the macro in the mach3 macro folder but thats about all i know. I want to do some bench testing before i start the conversion.

Thanks,
Derek

Hey Dan,
I can go either way i have the original dc motor and also have a nema 17 that i can use. What do you think would be better/easier to set up? I need tons of help with mach3 to get things setup.
Thanks,
Derek

VB and the development of wizards / tool change macro
« on: December 30, 2014, 08:59:38 PM »
Hello All,
I am working on a tool change macro for a emco pc lathe 55. It has a 6 spot turret that moves cw direction past the tool then reverses direction to lock against a locking paw. The original electronics are toast so i replaced them with a gecko 540 and a VFD. The tool changer is driven by a nema 17. What i need is a macro to drive the nema 17 say 72 degrees and then reverse 12 degrees to lock. This is the macro i have that was given to me by a gentleman that had completed his conversion but i can't contact him anymore. I'm obviously missing something.
Thanks in advance.
Derek

General Mach Discussion / turret tool changer

Hello All,
I am working on a 6 place tool turret. It works by rotating clockwise then it reverses against a paw to hold it in that position. Currently i am using a nema 17 stepper to drive the turret. A gentlemen was helping me with this project since he has done this before. He gave me the macros he used but i don't know how to set up mach3. Can someone explain how the macro works and how to set up mach3.
Thanks,
Derek

General Mach Discussion / newbie emco lathe retrofit
« on: February 27, 2014, 01:03:39 AM »
Hello All,
I am currently retrofitting a emco lathe 55 and don't know the best way to make the 6 tool turret work. The current system using a 12v motor and a optic sensor for position. First question can I use this system? I have read that  people are changing it to a nema 17 stepper motor. What would be the easiest way to make it function correctly? I have also read posts on a macro to make it work right. Just need some guidance.

Thanks
