General Mach Discussion / Re: pwm bumped to minimum setting
« on: July 03, 2013, 09:34:53 AM »
I got it working, you will never guess what the problem was....

I just closed mach and restarted the program and it works fine now. Maybe it was because I turned the gecko drive on after I started mach the other times? I'm not sure, but as long as I start the gecko first, then boot up mach its great.

Thanks for the support and help you guys, even though the solution was strange I learned a lot more during this process so its all good.

Thanks again,

Tom

Thanks for the explanation on the xml. I remember now getting this xml from the company who made the cnc , zenbot. I attached the file, thanks for taking a look!

I know this is something simple, that I just don't know enough to see. I had trouble with this exact thing about a month ago. I turned off the switch on my gecko that said Charge Pump, and suddenly I ran the code and it worked. I thought the problem was solved, but then i tried to run this code again and back to the same issue. I must have changed something else and misdiagnosed the solution.

My other files run fine still, its just this one...of course, the only one I really need to run.. and the most complex one I have tried. everything else i have done so far was basic shapes and easy stuff. I have so much to learn :)

I'll look for the pulley settings too!

Thank you again!!

Hi Hood, thanks for your help!

I only have a router which is not controlled by Mach. What do I need to change?

Sorry if this question is dumb I'm totaly new to all of this. I have see bits and pieces of this info in my searching but nothing that is easy to follow or seems to have a solid solution.

Can anyone direct me to the best solution for adding/configuring a z zero touchplate and using the auto tool zero features?

I'm using Mach 3 and the geckodrive

Thanks!

Thanks for all the great suggestions! I tried them all and I finally got it working. I knew it was something silly and it was. I had been messing with the pulse pump button on the gecko drive and turned it on. As a last resort to get this working I turned it off and restarted Mach 3, suddenly the gcode cuts fine.

Not sure why or if I'm even correctly assessing this fix, but I'm just happy it works. Thanks for the great help, I learned a lot in the process. :)

I'm trying to set up the same thing, could you tell me what the " blue screen probe" is or a link to learn more? Thanks!

Rich,

Could you tell me where i change the velocity? is this in my CAM which is cambam, or in Mach 3? In cambam I can set velocity to constant velocity or exact stop. I don't see the setting for acceleration, though I remember coming across it before i think...

Thanks!!

sure, the cnc starts to move and then at the second line of gcode it stops. Then the mach 3 xyz numbers on the screen are still going, but the gcode is no longer scrolling down and the machine is kind of making a sound like the motors want to go but they aren't.

I ran some other files and everything cuts perfectly, so it has to be something wrong with this file or maybe this file is having a conflict with how I configured (or dint configure) mach3 I'm guessing?

Thank you so much for your help!
