General Mach Discussion / Re: lLearning curve a few pictures

Hi all, Looking for help with my latest difficulties.  I have installed the latest zip file from candcnc, which includes BladeRunner, Mach Profiles, Screens, etc (file name: MasterCandCNC_Install-web.zip) from this website: http://www.candcnc.com/manuals.htm , so I believe I'm all up to date with my software.  I'm gong to be routing.  (hopefully soon)

I have two loaders that I'm TRYING to use: Mach3 Loader, and Bladerunner Router:

When I use the Mach3 Loader, below are the Profiles shown (most of which I need to delete since I'm only routing):

1. Mach3Loader: BladeRunner AIO-Router-UBOB3
2. Mach3Mill
3. Mach3Turn
4. Plasma
5. Router

I'm pretty sure the first one is the one I want, the BladeRunner, but it won't load properly.  It displays the outline of the window and the line of commands across the top, but it's completely white in the middle.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program SEVERAL (8?) times.

So then I go to "View" and am able to manually load either of two .set screens: BladeRunnerAIO-DragonCut.set and/or BladeRunnerAIO-DragonCut-DCP2.set, which is all well and good until I try to load G-code.  The "File Type" indicates that it's looking for a .tap file, but it only displays .cdr files.  It does not "see" .tap files.  Yes, I have the G-Code folder open, and can see .tap files when I go through Windows Explorer, but they do not display when I load Mach3 and choose the BladeRunner .set.

If I choose Profile #5 above, the Router, it does load correctly, and I AM able to open .tap files, but according to the BladeRunner manual, I MUST use a BladeRunner .set.  At least I'm pretty sure I read that ... I can't find it again.  Eh-heh.

On my desktop is also a BladeRunner Router icon, and when I try to open that I get the exact same result as when I go to through Mach and select option #1 above.  I wanted to include some screen shots, but PrintScreen doesn't work on that computer.

Also, and perhaps related, I cannot load my personalized license.  Lastly, I DID reboot the computer when prompted after installing the parallel port.  Any suggestions?  My system is a fresh (wipe) install of XP, 32bit.  Thanks very much for your kind attention,

Elizabeth

LazyCam (Beta) / Re: LazyCam 2.081 Issues

I have a "cut" line indicated in LazyCam that should be a Rapid Height line.  I have figured out which chain it is, is there a way to change it to a Rapid Height line?

My name is Elizabeth.  My husband and I have a sign company and are looking forward to adding metal signs to the types of signs we make with our new CNC machine.  Quite a steep learning curve for us.  I'm looking forward to being able to pick everyone's brains!
