General Mach Discussion / Slow jogging
« on: August 18, 2015, 12:29:12 PM »
So after years of having this issue, i think i have found the problem. So what is happening is that every time i go to jog, it is running super slow no matter how i change things. I think what is happening is that Mach 3 is not dropping the last feed rate from the previous drill cycle. Has any one had this issue? Any way to flush the feed rate at the end of a program?

Here is the previous discussion about it.

General Mach Discussion / Steps when cutting in y axis
« on: May 06, 2015, 12:59:18 PM »
I keep getting steps in the y axis when I try to run this particular program (contour) output through HSM works. But if I do a pocket then run a full contour i don't have any issues. Thoughts?

This has been an on going problem that i cannot seem to resolve

I have messed with everything and nothing seems to work.

I went from an acceleration of 2 to 1 and no change. I am running the program now at a velocity of 20 from 30 to see what happens.

attached the code too

That is where the problem is... 90% of the time it doesnt skip... its just when i use the adaptive clearing feature in HSMworks which has aggressive moves. We cannot actually hear it skipping even now, we just measure the distance that has changed from the 0,0 location after the program has been run. I decreased the accel from 2 to 1.5 and it did make a big difference, only .010 off vs .100.

General Mach Discussion / Mach3 motor rapid tuning

So we have been using mach3 with HSM works for quite a while and have noticed that when we use the adaptive clearing feature, our y axis is loosing steps (only that axis). We have come to the conclusion that maybe the rapid isn't set right or the acceleration isn't. you can follow the post here.

How do we set the rapid in mach3 and how do we know if the acceleration is set correctly? Any other thoughts on what might be going on here??

This is our CNC kit

sorry for the late follow up. Here is the xml file. Interestingly enough is that if you use continuous jog, it jogs slow no matter how you change the feed but if you are in step mode it moves relative to the feed setting so i can make it move much faster.

Yeah when I jog that number is around 4-5 and if i change the feed rate it doesn't change the speed, still between 4 and 5. If i run a program the number does change with the feed.
