G-Code, CAD, and CAM discussions / multipasses

I am currently trying out cambam/mach 3 trial versions.I drew the sample nema plate in cambam,the toolpaths looked good but when it came to cutting incrementally each pass goes deeper than entered.Newbie so needing suggestions where to trouble shoot.I checked the z movement just with a steel rule and when the DRO says .125 thats what I get
