General Mach Discussion / Reset button always flashing
« on: November 19, 2021, 05:00:48 AM »
Hi there, I have just loaded Mach 3 to run my rotary axis on my cnc router, all was fine then I loaded Gery's 2010 screen set and now I can not reset the software when I start it up, the red flashing reset button keeps flashing all the time and I can not jog or do anything, I have tried all the setting in pins and ports for the E-stop but to no avail, when I revert back to Mach 3 screen the reset button works fine, I have had the same set up a few years ago( Mach3 and 2010 screen set ) and it all worked fine, but now I can't reset it.
Any ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated    :( :(

Cheers
Nick

General Mach Discussion / Motor turning
« on: July 26, 2021, 02:08:46 AM »
Hi there, I am building a wood turning lathe, two axis X and Z, using the Mach 3 usb controller two stepper motors ,two power supplies, and two M542 stepper drivers, I have wired the motors and drivers etc. connected to Mach3 Turn, using the key board short cut keys and the pendant the motors turn nicely in both CW/CCW directions, one motor at a time by pressing the appropriate keys etc, but I can not make the two motors to turn simultaneously by pressing the two appropriate keys at the same time, tried all the setting in config screen to no avail, is there something I have missed, I can turn each motor in both direction but only on at a time. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Hi just my two bobs worth, replace the usb cable that came with uc100, I had problems with the cable, it was actually loose fit and vibrations on the machine caused problems, bought a new cable and never had that problem again that was two years ago still going good. ( touch wood!)  ;D

General Mach Discussion / New Control Panel for Mach3
« on: May 17, 2017, 06:38:03 AM »
Hi there, I am working on a control panel for my home made cnc router, I am running Mach3 and a UC100 usb motion controller and2010 screen set, I have made the control box with a joy sticks and buttons to activate the various mouse/key stroke commands, it is wired to a I-Pac2 key board emulator, my problem is:- I can understand how to allocate the basic short cut keys such as Page Up/Down left right etc, but for the likes of me I have no idea as to allocating the likes of Alt R for cycle run etc, has anyone done this or knows how to do this I would like to hear from you, keep in mind that I have no experience in writing macros or any thing like that, if some one can explain in plain and simple language the various steps and point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate the assistance.

I agree with Tweakie, I had a very similar problem a few months ago, it turned out to be a loose wire in the stepper motor connector, once fixed it works great

Thanks for your replies gentlemen, swapping the .xml file half solved the problem...... but I think a re-load of Mach3 may be in order.
