General Mach Discussion / Offset

Hi"
I am new at this game and I have been trying to set up CNC machine. I cannot get past first base as I keep getting an offset which I cannot get rid of.
All my homing switches work and I have read all the manuals. When I go to home ( reference all ) the machine stops in all different positions.
The offset keeps getting digger.
I cannot run the machine as it will crash ,
I also get a error Z not set
Is there anyone that can help me please
