Looking at the map I have flown the Typhoon in the simulator right over your house. GREAT fun.

Jim, make sure you go to Scotland. I have just looked up where Hood lives. Its one of the most beautiful areas of the UK (thats saying something seeing as I am English!)

Hood, I have been up your way recently. I sometimes work at RAF Leuchars. Your a lucky lucky boy!

Pity. Shame it wasn't a nice and easy fix for your problem.

The first line of the code that doesnt work has a typo. You have a double G in the first line. Is this a cut and paste of the code that your trying to run or a copy error?

General Mach Discussion / Re: formula for slotted disc
« on: September 26, 2012, 10:34:54 AM »
Not sure if I am missing something here. But disk diameter cannot have any effect over the RPM figure. I mean, if the motor is turning at a true 1000 rpm and the disk is 2" or 4" or what ever then it will still be going the same RPM. However, if your using a timer in the slot then the slot length is the only thing that will effect the value. If the opto just sences the slot and does no slit length / time count function then the slot length will have no effect either. Is it possible that your returned value of 2340 RPM is indeed correct?

I like to use parafin on ally. WD40 works a treat but is pretty expensive if you have to keep buying cans of it.

Hi Hood,

I dont know, I havent botherd looking for alternatives. I am very happy with the G100 but when Mach4 comes out I will migrate even though it looks that I will have to change the motion controller. When that happens I will take advice.

Sorry, that sounded wrong but you know what I mean.

Regards.

Brian

Thankyou for your very prompt reply.

I do not think that Gecko sell them. They dont support them and they have dissapeared from their website. I got mine from them around 5 years ago. As I said, I am preperared to go the SS route. I dont need the network version, the USB version would work just as well. I just need more inputs / outputs than the paralel ports offer.

Regards.
Mike
