Galil / Re: Mach3 and Galil ... Getting better

I never did get my galil to work with mach3. If anyone is interested, I can supply the pc with galil card, and icm module. Ship the mess to you, you configure so that mach 3 controls analog servos and i/o through the ICM. Return to me. I write check. Sweet. If interested, quote me a price, and we go from there. Email me at grimm_machine@verizon.net. thanks. Jon

Hi Brian

Any news on the solution for my DMC1760? The urgency has somewhat passed, but this is still a need I have.

thanks, Jon

Mach3 and G-Rex / Re: Communication Lost / Error 777

I have the ip address set to 192.168.1.100. If I ping 192.161.1.10, I get happy results. 0% data loss.
This leads me to believe that I have stable comm between the pc and the g100.

One possibility is that I have loaded the wrong firmware into the g100.
The instructions were a little vague on that point.
I'd like to try to re-load, but I can't seem to find a procedure for this.

Now, If I use the g-rex loader, I can't get to the html screen, I only get a blank browser.
I'd like to back up and start again, if I can figure out how.

I have made progress here...
Now I seem to have everything up to snuff, except, when I start mach3, the g100 is recognized for a few seconds, then I get the message communication lost.

I am at this same point, where mach recognizes the g100 then gives the message communication lost.
was a solution determined for this?

setting up a g100 under mach 3....

in setting up the network, I assigned 192.168.1.100 to the pc.
when I ping 192.168.1.10 , I get the message request timed out.
the setup guide  indicates this to be a cabling problem, but I am using a brand new network crossover cable bought from staples, connects the pc directly to the g100.
comments?

same problem found with 2nd pc, but same cable.
wondows recognizes a network connection, but when I ping 192.168.1.10, I get the message "request timed out"
again, the setup guide indicates a cabling problem.

any other suggestions?

I am missing the fundamentals of connecting mach3 to my dmc1760 and icm2900
I need very specific information as to how to define the port, the pins, etc....

dmerrll -- thanks for the response! I have searched for very basic info and have been unable to find online. I have posted on multiple bulletin boards with limited success. I do not know how to specify to mach3 details of the dmc 1760. For example, the port address: is it one of the adresses in the range that appears in the setup page where I defined the IRQ for the card? I don't know how the printer port pin assignments relate to my ICM-2900 breakout box terminals. Galil has no info on how mach3 interacts, and from the mach3 side, well, there's no documentation yet. In other words, I am missing the very basic fundamentals of the setup. I can do the servo tuning, but I need to get to that point. Is there any chance you can call?
Thanks for the help.

mach3 v 2.48, galil dmc1760, galil ICM2900

In order that I can decide that, yes, I can start to wire in this new system, I am running some simple tests before I fully commit.

I configured mach 3 v2.48 to use port 1, and assigned pin 3 for coolant.
From galil's smart term, I can turn out3 on and off.
from mach3, when I toggle the flood coolant button,  out3 turns on, but not off.

this has not yet been registered, is it contributing to my trouble?
is there something else I might be missing?

if anyone is fluent in mach3/galil? I will gladly compensate someone for live tech support that is.

thanks
