Hi Steelman!

Welcome to the forum and to the world of CNC.  The only hobby that I allow myself to have these days is guitar playing and building my own tremolo bridge.  It just so happens that I needed a mill to make the parts and it would sure make it easier if the mill was converted to CNC, so I guess that my one hobby has expanded a little :D.

Steel guitar is awesome.  I especially like Daniel Lanois' peddle steel work on Belladonna http://youtu.be/tXVQbbGMZY4.

Take care and have fun!  Mitch

Hi Gary.  That is some beautiful work!  There seems to be many years of experience behind your and your son's craft.  There are many details to getting a CNC machine just right and even more to get a guitar just right for a given player.  Very well done!

Hello everyone!  I'm an Industrial Engineer in the medical industry who used to run a CNC routing business about 10 years ago.  Still love the technology and am converting a small manual mill to CNC.  My hobby is designing and building my own guitar (focus on the trem unit) but to get some nice curvy parts, I needed a CNC machine.  Local shops are really expensive for parts, so I guess I'll extend my hobby for a few years by building a CNC myself.  I'm just in the process of hooking up motors and testing Mach3.  I think that pin assignments aren't quite right...time to take out the multimeter ;).
