travel height is +3mm, probr depth is -80mm, I've just realised that it might have been the input light that was flashing, and not the probe light, will check when I go to the workshop!

Thanks for the quick response, I tested the probe, it lights the input light when it is tripped, and the light is off when its not tripped, but it doesn't get that far, it seems to skip over the G31 block, any other suggestions?

I've had this wizard a while, and it has worked fine but today When I tried to digitize something the wizard just refused to play, I fed in the numbers, and created the program to digitize, but it doesn't run. I can step it along, and the x and y axis work, but it is bypassing the z action the probe is working (according to the diagnostic screen) I'm sure it is something that I have done (or not done), any ideas?

well, as suggested, I swopped the Y and Z leads over, and went through the plotting process, and it worked!! I rigged a retractable ball point pen as a probe which when it pressed a contact made from a little strip of brass, it lit a bulb, it worked fine, the only problem was when I told the machine to "goto zero"

got a camera, but no xbox, I was thinking of rigging up a couple of laser pointers to locate the place where the beams coincide "a la dam busters" what is the story with the xbox? won't a computer do?

It appears the Copy Cat does not allow arcs ouside of the G17 plane(XY) even thought it will produce a spiral (;-)

I don't understand that, I can't be the only person who wants to cut a dish shaped profile, what is the difference between xy and xz movements? is this a bug in the software?

Hi I'm Mike Cahill, and I live in Castleford in West Yorks, UK, I've had the bits for a machine for about 3 yrs, got quite a way along with building a machine out of mdf, but wasn't happy with how it turned out so bought a small mill from Merchant Dice, put together the motors and drivers from ebay etc. got that running about a week ago, and played with it most days since then, I've now bought bigger motors for the mdf machine, and ordered bits to extend the range of my first machine. one of my other hobbies is making clogs, I intend to cut my own wooden soles, and metal parts with a cnc mill, I'll post some pictures when I manage it

Had what I thought was a brainwave, and lowered z axis 0.0 point to below the lowest point in the arc, so that it stayed in positive numbers because the error message said it couldn't divide by zero, but it hasn't made any difference, anyone else had this problem, and worked out a workaround?
