G-Code, CAD, and CAM discussions / G-Code access to Variables
« on: August 11, 2012, 12:28:47 AM »
Does any one know a way of accessing Mach3 (not user) variables from within a G-code program.
e.g. get current x,y,z,a axis position or G52 offests or current speed, feed etc.
Fingers crossed
Thanks, John

Was afraid that was the answer. Had hoped that someone may have modified a circle wizard.
So far I have made a tapered reamer on the lathe, milled 3 cutting surfaces and filed teeth in them.
Guess for now thats the answer.
Thanks

I am attempting to bore a taper e.g. MT-2 in an aluminum block on my mill.
Have done so on the lathe using the taper wizard.
So far I haven't found a method for the mill.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

General Mach Discussion / Gibbs CAD/CAM

Have recently purchased a Novakon NM-200 CNC Mill. It came with VisualMill 6.0.
I have general machining skills but no CAD/CAM.
As VisualMill is a CAM not CAD pkg. it looks like I will have to acquire one.
Anyone using Gibbs & care to evaluate?

Thanks, John

My Name is John & I have recently acquired A Novakon NM-200 CNC Mill.
New to CNC & would appreciate hearing from anyone in the Holland Landing, ON, Canada area.
I have basic machining skills & manual Mill, Lathe, Surface grinder etc.
Having numerous issues with Mach3 (Probably my own inexperience).
Will post questions on the appropriate forum.
Thanks, John
