General Mach Discussion / Re: Auto Zero Is Not Working - Please help.

Nils, Would have emailed but cant right now.

Anyways you have all your inputs and homing going to pin 15 it looks like. Manual states that you will need to home each axis independently and not use RefallHome.

Cut, Copy Paste out of the manual.

4.5.5.4 Home Switches of Multiple Axes Connected Together

If you are really short of inputs to Mach3, then you can OR the Home switches together and define all
Home inputs to be that signal. In this case you can reference only a single axis at a time -– so you
should remove REF All buttons from your screens – and your Home switches must all be at the end of
travel on their respective axes.

I ended up wiring Jimmys independantly, I just have to figure out how to stop the autosquaring for him.

General Mach Discussion / Re: How about an iPad as a Mach3 Pendant?

For those of you who want to run Mach off a laptop you can do pretty much the same thing that Bob mentioned with LogMeIn for free. I use this program for my Home Theater and it works great. It allows you to turn on and off computer with lan and use the full keyboard. It does require Internet Access. Here is a video of the setup process.

General Mach Discussion / How did he / How do I do this?
« on: July 26, 2010, 12:54:06 AM »
I really would like to figure out how this individual was able to make the drill come on for only the down stroke. I understand all the mechanicals but I cannot figure out for the life of me how he programmed it. This could be used for so much more. Compressed air for chip removal, Coolant only coming on when actual cutting is happening.

Not to sound like a penny pincher but think of the cost savings. Lets say you have to drill 2 holes that are 90" apart. The amount of air/coolant that is dumped in-between the 2 cuts is significant.

On the shopbot forum they mentioned modding the PP but what would you add or do to make this happen. Thanks for the help.

General Mach Discussion / Coolant only on when cutter is engaged?
« on: February 16, 2010, 08:14:33 PM »
I was wondering if there is a way to have the coolant only come one when the cutter is engaged. Lets say we only want the coolant to come on when the cutter is within a .25" of the work piece. This way when you are transitioning to a new area or hole the coolant isnt running. Is this possible and Im just not seeing it?

Sometimes its just better to start all over again.  ;D I reinstalled Mach 3 on my Computer and everything works great. Gcode Runs and Jog works. I should have done this 2 days ago but I truley thought I had missed something. Knowing me I probably clicked on something I wasnt suppose to. Thanks for looking into it Brian.

General Mach Discussion / Need a little help
« on: February 14, 2007, 10:22:11 AM »
Basically Im not getting any movement out of anything. I tried to run the Road Runner Example, I have tried to jog. I tried to do a simple box from Lcam and nothing is working. I have watched pretty much all of the video's and have even set it up just like Art did and still nothing. Also when I use Lazy Cam it reads to the 6th line in the gcode box but when I run the road runner example it doesnt leave the first line. And the numbers do not get larger or smaller in the Machine Coordinates window either.  I missing something? Thanks for any help. Josh
