General Mach Discussion / Re: Mach 3 or Parellel Port Issue
« on: September 08, 2015, 10:02:19 AM »
Nick,

You are right, the PCI board is 3.3V.    I will see if I can get the correct one.

I really appreciate you responding, very helpful.

General Mach Discussion / Mach 3 or Parellel Port Issue
« on: September 04, 2015, 03:05:46 PM »
I had my CNC machine set up and working, and my hard drive went.   I have a new computer, Windows 7. 32 bit with parallel port that I added.   I loaded the drives to the computer for the parallel port and it says ok.    I went into properties and found the drive location and entered it into Mach 3, I put the pins in, scale, enabled where I remembered.     When the computer starts up you can hear the stepper motors engage with a slight noise but they will not move with the G code.

The PCI I/O range is EC00-EC07 and EC880-E887, I used EC00.

Mach 3, if I check it says pins not enabled.

Any suggestions?

Thanks Jay ???

General Mach Discussion / Mach 3 for Lathe
« on: February 18, 2011, 11:59:06 AM »
I have been using Mach 3 for my milling machine and now I want to use this program for my Lathe.   When I downloaded the Mach 3, my screen seems only set up for and has Wizards for Mill applications.

How do I get a lathe screen with Lathe Wizards?

Thanks for any help.

When I was reviewing the Wizards this morning, they looked the same as my Mill Wizards.

I will check again when I get home!!

Share Your GCode / turning g code
« on: February 07, 2011, 11:44:36 AM »
I am just getting started and I would like a G code for turning down rod to a predetermined O.D.

I would like the whole code so that I can see how the code works.   I am using a gear cutting wizard currently and I can make it do what I want but I can't see the whole code and this make thing harder to learn.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Jay

I hope I am not asking too dumb of questions.

I assume that changing the active state for the E-Stop is disenabling in Input signals?

I thought I had entered the correct value and posted code but the error still will not go away.  I will try again when I get home tonight.

I really appreciate your input.

Thanks Jay

General Mach Discussion / Wizard Error
« on: January 28, 2011, 11:59:38 AM »
I incorrectly entered a bad input into the Spline and Gear Wizard and saved the value.   Now I can't reset the error.  I keep on getting "Error Rapid Plane <=0******. "E Stop button Pressed"   I have since then entered a value larger than zero but the error will not go away.   Can you help?

In addition, I have disabled the E-Stop in the Pins and Ports but it keeps on enabling itself.  I hit apply after making change.    This is a very small machine and the E-Stop is not really needed for the stepper motors.

Thanks for any input.
