General Mach Discussion / Re: power control of router using mach 3 / M3
« on: September 04, 2013, 04:18:17 PM »
I am trying to switch my spindle on/off through pin 1, output 1. The problem is that whatever I do the output 1 is allways low. When I switch off the computer it get high. I measured pin 1 of the parallel port and I allways get 4,something Volts idependent of the spindle button in mach 3 is on or off. Is that a problem with the parallel port? or is my breakoutboard that is defective? I have a probotix breakoutboard PBX-RF. Can anyone help?

General Mach Discussion / Re: help to set A axiz for tangencial cut

Thank you very much for your help. Problem is solved now and working perfectly. One of the problems was related with the low speed of A axis. It seems this axis must work at quite high speed.

Enclosed the XLM file for the machine. It was the one made by default when Mach 3 was installed, with some corrections for motor pins.
will appreciate your help.

General Mach Discussion / help to set A axiz for tangencial cut
« on: December 10, 2010, 01:41:43 PM »
Hi

Can anyone help me to set the A axis for tangential cut? What I did was activate the A axis on the motor outputs and under general configuration checked A-axis is angular. Then under settings when I activate tangential control I get the square next to it yellow and blinking. The motor does not make any movement.

What am I doing wrong? Please help

Thanks

I developed a system to use on our routers that use mach. I only use 3 dots for overall stretch or shrink in the x and y. It also compensates for the rotation. The dots need to be within 1/2 inch of where they should be located but as long as they are that close it works very well.

Hi Bill
Is there any chance that you share your system? Also do you use a webcam to find the dots?

Thanks

Hi people

I'm new at CNC and just build my first one. I live in Portugal and I amconnected with large format digital printing since the early days.

I have the same problem, as I need a camera solution that can detect reference points and them correct to cut. Do you manage to find any solution?
Pls let me know if you come up with any solution or just give up.

thanks
