Brains Development / Re: My Brain Needs Help!!!
« on: June 02, 2009, 04:58:43 AM »
Thanks for the reply Scot,
A little more on what I'm doing...I'm using Matts DTHC concept with a Pokeys and to say at the least it works quite well
my only problem is (after talking to Bois) is that I must be getting noise though the usb cable....just enough to be annoying...I tried just about everything to fix it...so this is were I asked about buffering the signal...Yes I am using the brains that Matt wrote, they seem to work much better than mine..(as I am new to the brain thing)...and now I guess I will figure out the macro pump thing....if its VB then I will be really lost...any good threads on this.....can it done in a brain?.
After talking to Matt this might be a good thing to know in the future!!!!! ( to be added to a plug in :)
Thanks for your help!!!!

« on: June 01, 2009, 05:58:58 AM »
Thanks Bois I was wondering if it was noise....because I had it hooked up to my lap top while playing with the pokeys and it was fine..
then put on machine and it showed problems...
It is not mounted in the control box yet I will do it soon...do you have any suggestions on have to protect the pokeys and USB cable from noise??
and no I think the pokeys is a great little piece of equipment for the DIYer thanks

PoKeys / Analog not smooth
« on: June 01, 2009, 02:48:57 AM »
Borisz,
Would like to know if I have a problem....
When a pot is hooked up to pokeys the analog input on the test page is rock solid but when it is unhooked or hooked to my voltage divider it is unstable.
Is it the pokeys, the usb cable, usb port or pc ?
Has any one eles noticed this.
I'm using a brain to bring this to Mach..is there a way to calm it down in a brain???
Thanks Dave

okay I have a problem...going through the brains on the torch up and down comand the Z axis is very jumpy.
also have up and down Leds on screen set with THC enable button & led and none seem to do anything...have not tried it with g code just on test bed...Maybe Scott AKA poppabear can help with this???? if he has time...
If I use the shuttle All axis are smooth and liner....it is only when the brain turns on the torch up or down...

General Mach Discussion / Re: THC300 jumps up down

Hi,
I just started cutting a straight line for testing. I see torch goes all the time up and down for small amount and Up and Down leds goes on and of 2 to 3 times per second. The cut is not ideal. Material is 4 mm steel, and 60 amps
What to adjust in this case?
