So.................

I now have a great system running. I'm very happy....

This what happened...

1. I bought an HP workstation with OS Windows Vista- Downgrade to XP. It really is XP...
2. Downloaded the Mach3versionR1.84.002
3. Running BOBCAD v23 (which is one amazing program made by SolidWorks, MasterCam and Bobcad)
4. Running a very old 1989 Anaheim Controller.
5. CNC I built and has 3 axis with 2 Z heads.
6. Got the settings  and pins all set.
7. Up and running smoother than before.

I wonder why it runs smoother???? Is it really because of XP OS?
I ran XP home edition for years and it worked great, with never one issue. But this new OS seems to run the machine and software better.

Can this be? or am I just excited?

I have a new HP Workstation with XPpro running. I recently uninstalled M3 to start fresh. I downloaded the latest version but it seems wierd, the screen is small and wont fit to the monitor.
any thoughts???

All of a sudden I get no movement after on either the machine or on M3. thursday night we had it all working. I have no idea why.
The port pins worked for us. I shut down and the next day. Nothing worked.
Should I un-install M3 and download the latest version. It seems like the best thing to me.??

Whoa!!  Easy does it, ..... 8)... Thats just an opinion from a MCSE geek, no need to take it personally. I agree with you actually.
Next time I will send a personal message, instead of getting the forum all fired up.

ANYWAY...

Got the whole situation figured out last night and the machine is running sweet as honey. Had a dog of a time loading drivers but with the
generous help from Precision Chaos (Thanks a million Brett) we got the machine to run with this OS. Mach3 needed a few tweaks and that
did it. Right now I'm running guitar bodies.
Thank you Artsoft and Mach 3 for such a great forum. Extremely helpful in all angles.

Mill away......

Did you  reload the latest version of M3 or the same one you had on the system?

Brett,

this is a reply from my MCSE computer tech that put together my workstaion..

Scotty
What you have exactly is the XP downgrade.

Technically, you have a Vista license but choose to downgrade to XP, or
I choose for you.

Vista sucks. It was released all the way back in January 2007 and still
is not ready for prime time.

Microsoft has recognized their failure, I'm sure you see the Mojave
commercials...

Anyway, Vista flopped and is already being replaced by Windows 7.

Me,
I'm never going to touch Vista and just move more into Linux and
virtualization. I've started messing with 7. It's a little better than
Vista but not great.
