General Mach Discussion / Re: Step motors problem - no movement
« on: March 28, 2011, 02:02:26 AM »
Hi Marcin,

The controller you have is TB6560 based. Seems your problem is related step signal. Try the following:
- Activate E-Stop mode and check if all the motors are unlocking
- Set the kernel speed to 25KHz. Note: you must not use higher than 35K for this board.
- Save the config and exit mach3.
- Start Mach3, check if you can jog.

If problem exists then it is related to your board:
- Unplug the controller. Set the corrent setting to MAX.
- Plug the LPT interface and power cable.
- Carefully identify the PIN 3 of the main IC (under the heatsync) for any axis. Connect a volt meter at this pin.
- Jog from Mach3, you'll notice a variable volt...

General Mach Discussion / Strange problem in Circle
« on: February 13, 2011, 09:34:43 AM »
Hello:

My home made router was unused for a month and last night I turned it on for an urgent profiling work. But circle in my design profiled a strange shape! Please see the picture attached. I've also attached Mach3 config and the Gcode.
Everything was working as expected before and I can't really remember I modified anything in Mach3 by this time.

Kind suggest me the fix.

Thank you.

General Mach Discussion / Re: NEWBEE problem with tb6560 and mach3
« on: November 07, 2010, 08:32:47 AM »
hello to everybody

just instaled mach3 and board tb6560. motors have no reaction on software. motors don't move. I allready  have run drivertest. can u give me any suggestions?

I'm pretty sure that your port config is not correct. I have had the same problem for one of my eBay TB6560 boards. Their port config (provided in CD) was completely wrong. I then manually traced the board to identify the pin config. Finally it worked.

General Mach Discussion / Leadscrew vibrates in one direction
« on: November 04, 2010, 05:20:00 AM »
Hi CNC experts:

I need some help from your guys.
I have a home built CNC. My leadscrew is vibrating and screaming in one direction for the base axis (I called it Y). Specifically, it is happening from other end to me but not from my end to other end. All other axis's and directions are smooth.

I did some adaptation in different areas, i.e. replaced the rails, reduced the speed & acceleration, nothing really helped. But it did a little improvement after I switched from 1/8th microstepping to half stepping.

Please advice about where to check...

Thanks in advance.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Need info: Mach3 line count
« on: October 19, 2010, 03:07:59 AM »
I'm not actually familier with the macropump programming. It will be great if someone guides. :-)

So far I understand Mach3 is executing line by line and I just need the line number (for what it's going to execute).

thanks

General Mach Discussion / Need info: Mach3 line count
« on: October 18, 2010, 12:17:48 AM »
Hello:

Power in my country is not stable enough. It frequently fluctuates and in some cases even my UPS gets abnormal switchover and due to the fact that PC gets rebooted.

I would like to know if Mach3 writes a log for the line count as it executes. It will really help me to resume the milling from where it was interupted. At this moment it is a big pain for me to identify the line number for the interupted milling.

Any help will be greately appreciated.

It is understandable that Vectric would not distribute a software patch for another company's product.

Also Artsoft is in the middle of a new version development phase and I would not expect a fix from them any time soon.  Especially since this particular problem is not something that directly affects Mach3.

This issue is relevant to both Cut2D and Vcarve Pro. (in fact all Vectric programs)  All programs will output gcode directly to a running instance of Mach3.

However a large proportion of users will not have a Vectric CAM program running on their machine control computer at the same time as Mach3.  Although I do most of the time.

Also this has nothing to do with what program is listed in the Mach file menu.  That is a completely separate issue.  Not related at all.

If you know your way around the registry then do a search for entries containing "Mach4.Document".  If they are absent then this feature will not work.

It is my experience that Mach3 will make these registry entries on installation to XP, but for some reason, it does not when installing to Win7.  Others seem to be reporting that they can be missing on XP as well.

What I did was extract the entries from an XP installation and patch them to my Win7 installation.  This is all working perfectly for me.

I have declined to openly share this patch because even though it works for me, it is possible that there may be unintended consequences that I do not understand.  I am no programmer.

My advise is, if you know what you are doing with registry edits, then you can easily reproduce what I have done.

And if you do not, then playing around in the registry can have consequences.  Wait for an official fix.

Greg

I already figured out the registry entry (by a registry compare in two PC containing XP & Win7). :-)
Having an IT background (for a long), I'm pretty sure that it is a security issue in Win7 and Mach installer unable to create the entry during installation. Immediately I have an idea in mind.

I uninstalled Mach3, manually removed the registry entry I made and did a fresh installation. But this time I right-click on the installer file and selected "Run As Administrator" and it worked! Now Mach3 working under Win7 without manipulation of the registry.

Cheers

Do you have the Ajax controller as well or are you using the parallel Port?
Hood
opps, I forgot to mention. I use parallel port (DIY router build).
