LazyCam (Beta) / Re: Import Accuracy Of LazyCAM

Looked at the Corel Draw tools you suggested, but my version of Corel is too old (V9).  Not sure I want to spend the $150 to upgrade.

I tried a new experiment using a different package to export the DXF file (CadStandard).  It produced the correct size circle when imported into LazyCAM.  Now I just need to figure out how to get the Corel package to export to DXF in a file LazyCAM can read.  When I imported the Corel output file into my CAD package, the circles were multiple pieces and had one section that did not look right.  I think the whole problem is Corel.

I also tried the suggestion of changing the gap tollerace to a small number.  It was at .001 and now it is .0001, but I get the same result.

I do not use the save as DXF function in Corel, I have been using the Save as PLT function.  Don't know why I use PLT, so I went back and tried DXF and when I import into LazyCAM it locks up.  Now I remember why I have been using PLT.

LazyCam (Beta) / Import Accuracy Of LazyCAM
« on: November 21, 2009, 04:13:46 PM »
I am trying to cut pockets that are very accurate, and was blaming my machine for the inaccuracy of the holes.  When I went back to LazyCAM to try again, I noticed that the error seems to be in the LazyCAM import.  For example:  5 circles drawn in CorelDRAW are defined to be .995" in diameter.  When those are imported into LazyCAM, they vary in diameter from .9547 to .9557 or .001.  In fact some of the circles are not even circular any more as the diameter and the diameter are off by .001 also.  Is there a way to set accuracy of import or am I doing something wrong.

Thanks for your help.  I am new to this site.
