I just started 3d printing with the Rostock Max V2, and while digging through the firmware, I was wishing for a Mach 3 plug in as well.

And Tweakie, the slicing software still sends out a conventional gcode to the controller,,, It's the onboard controller that has to figure out where and how to put the printhead.

Sounds like backlash compensation.  There is an additional setting somewhere in Mach to speed up the process.

And here is one that's similar, although he doesn't show the spring that keeps the probe tensioned.  http://www.indoor.flyer.co.uk/probe.htm

If your spindle is locked, why would it matter if the probe isn't centered with the centerline of the spindle?  Once you set the axis's to zero, as long as the spindle doesn't rotate, all should be good.

When I converted my Sieg X2 to cnc, I started with an inexpensive drive from Stepperworld, which sounds similar to what you have, Shortly after that, I bought a Xylotex controller, and set microsteping to 1/8, and was much happier.  three years ago, I bought some gecko drives, and a toroid transformer to drive the motors at 60 volts,,,,,,, I finally put it all together a month ago,,, and could kick myself in the..... for not doing it sooner.  The board you have sounds like a unipolar drive,,, it energizes the coils only one way,,, Xylotex and Gecko uses unipolar drive which flips the polarity of the coils back and forth,,, the xyltex board is limited to 30 volts, and the geckoes 80 volts.

Reversing the direction of Y in Config, Motor Home/Soft limits, doesn't work?

Well we will be seeing a bunch of each other posts in the near future I am sure. Have you figured out any commands for the MDI box? You can add single line commands.  Cya soon

Use the stable version of Mach3 (3.042.029)  Version 3.043 has a bug that showed up for me in MDI.  With 3.043, when i set speed (f10) and then typed G1, All three axis started moving.

Open up Mach, click on config, ports and pins, and then motor outputs. make sure the settings match. If not, just click on the box, and put the right number in. for example, for your x Axis, you want the enabled box checked, Step pin# would be 3, and Dir Pin# would be 2.

Nope, you need to open it up and see what you have,  You said the seller didn't give you any documentation.  Once you find out what you have, you should be able to go to the manufactures website, and donwload the manuals for your equipment.  Chances are, all you will have to do once you get the manual, is change the pin settings in Mach to get you going.  If you can't find the manual online, post what you find here, and someone should be able to help you out.

The drivers are in the box,,,  Or you can call them controllers. here's what I'm referring to http://www.geckodrive.com/, http://www.xylotex.com/,
