General Mach Discussion / Re: Problem with XBOX 360 Pendant...?
« on: May 05, 2012, 01:05:53 PM »
What operating system are you using?

What kind of computer are you using?

I'm using Win XP and have an older motherboard with an on board parallel port, even though the XBOX controller is USB, I don't have any trouble. I'll go out this morning and check my exact settings and get back to you.

First, make sure the four light button has only one light on and it is in the top left corner. The only other settings I have is  in "port and pins" I have output settings, output #3 enabled, port #1 pin #17. If you still can't get to work, PM me your email and I'll send a picture of my XBOX set up screen.

I was running v..020 for some time and now it does what you are describing. I start the computer and it runs ok, I start mach3 and it runs ok, I try to load gcode and it locks up. For me, I believe, it's a processor / motherboard problem. My computer is old. On the new one, for me to run the driver test, I had to right click on the tester and run as administrator once, after that it ran fine. Now the the issue for me is mach is not seeing the parallel port.

Thanks

I have the files I need. I went to the college and used the T-1 line.

I just downloaded several other files from Art Soft and they came through very fast, I also just watched a tv program on Hulu no problem, but when I tried to download the latest mach3-- 6.7 KB per second. Must be the route it's taking.

General Mach Discussion / First reset in v- 040
« on: October 30, 2010, 04:51:53 PM »
I have a new ( to me ) computer with two hard drives. One hard drive has win XP SP2. and the other hard drive has Win 7. I installed mach3 v 040 on both hard drives. I use only one hard drive at a time (  disconnecting the other hard drive so at no time are both visible at the same time ) On each drive I set up a profile identical to the one I had on my  old computer ( it died ) . When I start mach in either windows,  I can't get past the reset, says e stop is set. It will reset in off line mode. Nothing is plugged into the computer except what needs to be there.  This profile worked with my last computer with XP. No other programs are running in the background, both operating systems are new installs and no other programs are on either drive.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I've been trying to download the Mach .pdf's and even the latest version of Mach3 and can't from the Art Soft site. After trying for several hours the d/l is terminated and I have to start over. Is there another site to get documentation and plug ins from?

Thanks

Dave

Sorry I can't help you. I think you are talking about a different kind of probe that I'm using. I started this thread for the xyz  zero probe and I don't think that's what you are talking about. Maybe some one else can help you.

What sort of problems are you having? I think I'm using V R 3.042.020, but I'll have to check for sure. I don't know who wrote the original software, but Ernie, who's version I'm using, is still posting on the cnc forums I think.

If you let us know what kind of troubles you are having, someone here can help. I made it through the hurdles and if I can do you can too. I use the probe every day after each tool change, and I do a lot of tool changes.
