machdrives.com announces the release of the new BRC series servo drive. This is our third new servo drive model for 2017, and is a low cost open frame design.

Rated at 20-150VDC input and 20A output, it is ideal for CNC mills, routers, lathes and plasma cutters. List price is AUD $199

While there are several other similar offerings in the market, the Machdrives BRC servo has some important differentiating features..

  • Lower heat generation. The combination of a switching regulator, power saving mode and an efficient MOSFET bridge means the drive can be screwed directly to the control cabinet wall in many applications, without requiring an additional heatsink.
  • More accurate tracking. Extending the traditional PID control with velocity feedforward, acceleration feedforward and stiction compensation eliminates tracking errors normally present on starting and acceleration.
  • Easier setup and tuning. Connection with a standard USB cable to the free Tuna for Windows application means easy setup without an oscilloscope. The 14 LED indicators show all signal and I/O pin status to streamline commissioning and troubleshooting.

  • 20-150VDC 20A brushed DC servo drive.
  • Step/Dir input compatible with Mach3.
  • Low cost open frame design.
  • High efficiency. Minimal heatsinking required.
  • 14 LED indicators for easy setup and diagnostics.
  • Configure with standard mini-B USB cable.
  • Easy tuning with free Tuna™ software for Windows.
  • Latest control algorithms. Dual 32bit ARM CPUs.
  • Smooth silent operation. No dithering.
  • Voltage, current and temperature alarms.
  • High noise immunity with isolated control circuitry.
  • Designed and manufactured in Australia.

The latest tuning software for Machdrives Dual Encoder Servo Drives is now available for free download.
Take a look. https://machdrives.com/tuna.aspx

Compatible with Windows XP, 7, 8.x and 10. Supports older XP machines with USB 1.1 and .Net 2.0 framework.
Displays metric or imperial distance and temperatures in Celcius or Farenheit.
Supports multiple instances so several drives can be connected simultaneously.
Real time eight channel scope with pan and zoom makes waveform analysis easy.
Real time digital readouts on command, motor and load position and error.
Real time statistical position error analysis. Can be used to optimize tuning or monitor machining operations.
Easy parameter configuration. No need to stop drive and save changes. Key values directly or use plus and minus keys for live "nudge" of tuning values.
In-built waveform generator for enhanced tuning.
