Modbus / Re: Modbus TCP
« on: May 29, 2009, 09:39:20 PM »
Did you click the Modbus TCP on the ports and pins page, and then close and restart Mach. Then you should be able to open the config page.
Hope this helps I am not positive that is just what I would try

Thank you Scott for replying. I have gotten my plc to write the tool location into a register and Mach to read it now. But I am having trouble getting mach to send the newtool number to another register, or any register for that matter.  As I attempt to do this on my own( with help from you) I have very much respect for you and what it takes to figure this out. I have a migraine on a daily basis. My problem before was I had mach reading and writing the discrete i/o's not holding registers. So mach was taking control of all of the inputs and outputs.
Any help further would be great,
Thank you
Jaime

Is it possible to run a script and have it set outputs that run subroutines in the PLC. Because I set up subroutines for the tool removal and replacement and linked them to discrete input buttons to test and the subroutines work great. But when Mach is on then the plc wired buttons begin to work then STOP. I am wondering if I need to set it different. I  would appreciate any help, I am sure I will return the favor in the future.
Thank you
Jaime

Modbus / Re: Help Needed trying to use the AD Click

I set the configuration to com1 38400 baud and 8-1-Odd.  apply these settings and close mach and Reopen. Then opened the mach serial modbus test window use the discrete input settings starting with  (hex)0000 and read all 8, for output coils use the 8192 read 6 points. these are the setting you will use on the setup page for inputs make sure you check discrete and for outputs check coils.
Let me know if you need more info or if this doesn't work.
Jaime
Also make sure you have serial cord not the USB. The usb won't work

I have got them communicating and even made a simple Brain to test an input and output. I am very happy now. It seems no one had any help for me, but I just kept trying and it works. If anyone needs my settings let me know.

Modbus / Help Needed trying to use the AD Click
« on: May 08, 2009, 11:48:07 PM »
I have a AD Click plc and I can connect to it just fine with the click software and I know I have the settings correct due to that. But I use the same settings in mach and It won't work.
Someone please help me?????
I am very new to PLC's and Modbus
I don't see any reason that mach won't communicate with the Click PLC
Thank you in advance to anyone thats willing to help,
Jaime

Modbus / Re: What do you think of the Click PLC

Hello RC did you get the click plc, if yes did you link it with mach through Modbus and what is your opinion on it.
I am making purchasing decisions on my Bridgeport BTC-1 I need sufficient I/O for my Tool changer. I thought this might be the way to go, considering I have a low budget.
Thank you in advance for any help,
Jaime
