General Mach Discussion / No Manual stepper control
« on: February 28, 2016, 01:03:32 PM »
Out of nowhere, I've lost manual control to run stepper motors. Diagnostic screen shows Output 2 in red.  It's been a while since I had anything go wrong. Can anyone suggest how I should start to fix my problem?
Thanks

Hood,
Yes! I get the same action. I shut down the system for about 5 minutes and rebooted.... It works fine now!   I hate when I can't find the cause of these malfunctions! Thanks again Hood.

Hood,
I spent the last 15 min trying to figure out how to attach a file. Would you tell me how this is done?

General Mach Discussion / How to add LED's to Control Panel for Jog Modes.
« on: September 30, 2010, 05:21:32 PM »
Hi All,
I added pushbuttons to my control panel for Jog Cont. and Jog Step. Now I would like to add leds so I know which is active. I wired an led with a 220 ohm resister from 5vdc source to BOB2  pin1. Then in Ports & Pins/Output/, I choose  Output2 and entered 2 for ports, and 1 for pins, and choose Active low. Wrote a brain with Jog Cont Led as input, to Pass Signal/No Operation to Output2. The brains switches on when I'm in JogCont, but the led always stays lit. What am I doing wrong?

General Mach Discussion / Re: External Button for Auto Tool Zero
« on: September 20, 2010, 03:09:58 PM »
Hi ranchak & Greg,

The bottom line is, I got it running using ranchak's files, even though they are identical to greg's. I had another brn file running which I don't use, so I disabled it and I think thats when the ATZ started to work.  I went back to greg's files and they work as well. Greg & ranchak..... thanks loads!! :)

Hi All,
I would appreciate if ranchak or greg would enclose a corrected m1s & brn file. I'm been trying all different versions and am at a standstill. Thanks in advance.

PoKeys / Re: How do I setup this in Mach?
« on: July 23, 2010, 12:37:42 PM »
Hi Bengt,
Can you further explain how you got your MPG to work? Here is a previous post of mine.
<I built a simple pendant with (2) three position rotaty switches for Axis select and Step select. I set them up (on PoKeys) as digital inputs on pins 6 thru 11. I have a single pushbutton, pin 5, selecting MPG Jog mode.  These all work fine as expected. I have an MPG wired up to my Pokeys pin 1 and 2.  I set up both the Encoder 1 and MPG #1 in 'Ports & Pins' to Port 10, Pins 1 for A and 2 for B. When I rotate the MPG, I get cycling on the 'IO Status' screen and the 'Encoder RAW Value' screen, but no physical axis cycling. I tried enabling "Enable Fast Encodors' Pins 2-3, 4-5 and 15-16' to no avail. Can anyone help?>
I don't understand where you are putting the pull-up resistors.
Thanks,
johnv
