General Mach Discussion / Using mach for other Process Control
« on: August 30, 2010, 01:06:50 PM »
General Question.  has anyone tried to use Mach to control other processes like Turning on and off pumps, monitoring temperature. Checking to see that things are flowing before the heating elements are turned on.  Or operations like checking to see that is flowing before turning on TSC making sure that chillers are at temperature so spindle does not over heat.

Thanks for any info

Hi Scott.

Sorry to hear about your work experience.  I too have had the same thing happen to me.  Only I was on the other side building and deigning the machine and being told that I would get to build all the frames for a stone router.  After I designed and built the first three I was told they were giving up the project only to see my frame on their web site and learning they took my work and found a cheaper shop to build them.

But I do have a question for you.  What motors and drives were you able to make work with  Mach.  A machine that size would need Servos.  I am building a small five axis machine and I need to use servos on it.  Not sure if Mach can do a machine like this but I am going to give it a try.

Thanks
