General Mach Discussion / Re: Z axis is dead
« on: April 02, 2009, 11:38:41 AM »
It is handheld controller externally from mach3.

Anyways I solved the problem reading through some older posts.

It was the  serial cable. I bought a new one and everything was back in order!
It seems that only pin 16 (Z for SyilX4) was damaged.

Thank you

No I mean with the handheld controller that it works ok.
From mach3 moving the cursors  I only get movement for X Y C and not for Z eventhough the DROs show movement.

General Mach Discussion / Z axis is dead
« on: March 30, 2009, 08:33:28 AM »
Hello everyone,

Everything was fine until I started my SyilX4 Mill today and the Z axis is not moving.
The DROs show movement but it doesnt move.

All other axis operate normaly and in manual mode the Z also works fine.

I did not change any settings !

Any ideas on how to solve this?

G-Code, CAD, and CAM discussions / solidcam simult. 4 axis processor
« on: February 27, 2009, 05:49:27 PM »
Hello everybody.

I am a new user and I have mastered the 3 axis CNC milling (to the point I can progess with my work at least!) and now I am trying to run the 4 axis on my CNC.
I use solidworks - solidcam and used the Fanuc processor so far .

When I try to run Mill - Turn this processor is not available and only one Nakamora m-t  is available to choose from.  I run the simulation of the work to be done correctly
but when I try to generate the Gcode I get an error code : that "system variable 'XC' cannot be declared." and the next one is cannot  initialize gpp tool environment'
Can I find a ready processor for simulaltaneous 4 axis ? should I modify one of the existing?

I am desperate with many hours of trying.. I have tried everything to my knowledge.. any help?

G-Code, CAD, and CAM discussions / Drill tap
« on: January 22, 2009, 04:26:57 AM »
Hello everyone!

I want to drill some holes repeatablly

The part is steel axle surrounded by plastic and I want to drill through the plastic part with faster feedrate, than the steel center axle (this will save me time because I am talking about thousands of  holes)

Do you have any idea how the gcode should look like?

General Mach Discussion / Re: random e stop error
« on: November 20, 2008, 04:35:43 AM »
Ok a new clue in the process.

The same thing happens when I manually start the spindle from the button on the actual machine.

So I guess it has to do with the mill.

I want to see if same thing happens if I start with lower RPM and then speed up to the desired RPM.
Or if  need a ac voltage stabilizer. Because I think it drops the current instantly and then e-stops.

Hood, thank you for your reply.

No I use the cycle start button,

There is a message it says external e -stop requested.

Should I still l try the debounce setting then?

General Mach Discussion / random e stop error
« on: November 13, 2008, 10:12:15 AM »
Hello everyone!

Greetings from Greece.

I have been a new Syil X4 plus mill and I control it with mach3

I have  a little problem.
Randomly when I press to cycle start button it will generate a e-stop requested error.

90% percent of the times I press cycle start it will work and start the operation . But every now and then it will generate the e-stop.

Any ideas on what to look for??

Thank you.

Lefteris
