will set the values and check about engaging soft limit button below DRO

Thanks Hood; you are even more prompt than Rufi

HI Hood,

forgot to mention that I did not set any values to homing/soft limits window yet; as you can seen in enclosed link what are mine deafult values.
The reason is that I do not know how to set the values!
If I switch off the soft limits (X++, X--) in port input window homing sequence works OK. At the moment I have all three inputs (X++,X-- and Xhome) set to same pin!

Any idea!
Thanks

dspMC/IP Motion Controller / Re: Homing and -- switch limit switch

I am finishing retrofit with DSPmc controller. Retofit went very smooth although I had no experiences in CNC nor MACH; however Vitalsystems team (Rufi especially and Arto) helped me a lot. Machine is running on AC servo motors with tachogenerators inside for velocity loop in encoders for position loop; an idea is to thank Rufi for very prompt and thural help throughout the retrofit.

Mine last questions are about homing/soft limits. I use shared swithes for homing and soft lim and I did set up mach as seen in help (see http://picasaweb.google.com/bostjan681/Homing?feat=directlink);
When I go in homing sequence stops when Z switch gets hit saying soft limit triggered. Is there any more elegant solution as swithing off soft limits each time when going in homing?

more thural photo review of retrofit is in progress

This is probably DSP question but I can try

HI,

while homing movement hits switch, zeroes, but it does not move back to release the switch.

Where do I have a problem

I have DSPmc controller

dspMC/IP Motion Controller / Re: Welcome to the dspMC/IP board

HI Vital Team,

it took some time for me to start working on my project using dspMC;
however;
1.) do I need to dowload any plugin or upgrade - I  dowloaded last version of axis works, do the connection via Xover cable and it seems to work OK
2.) When connecting first old encoder I have some problems?:
- I am not sure whether mine encoders are OK - it seems that they have all signals (A,A+,B.B+,Ref,Ref+,U,GND) bit I am not sure if they work - how can I check via axis works
3.) When connecting Z axis encoder to dsp and pressing connct button in axis soft, green button turns on; when manualy turning encoder nothing hapens on axis soft- I have not output from dsp to drives connected yet
4.) Some advise please on further steps - currently I have just encoder wired, no outputs are connected; must I connect outputs in order to seen if encoders are working properly
5.) Since drives were working already with previous setup I do not intend to change any drives setup

Some photos of current setup

Thanks for any help

General Mach Discussion / Re: refitting AC SERVO SYSTEM TO MACH

Looks promising AlfaAlfa,

please keep us informed regrding progress;
I still have not decided what to do! So, those plugins from Vital do not work properly and you need to do some modifications or where those mod. based on your servo drives?

General Mach Discussion / refitting AC SERVO SYSTEM TO MACH
« on: August 08, 2008, 05:06:57 AM »
HI MACH team;

I would like to swith from home written controller (SW) to mach. Machine is AC SERVO driven with encoders (see photo)
Drivers are analog, all from INDRAMAT. System work in closed loop, all works very good but does not satisfy my milling needs!
I would like to change only the interface from MACH (PWM and direction) to analog (+/- 10 V) input to drivers. Since I a not sure o that help me with some tips how to appoach the project, what to buy...
